In Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town, there are a lot of Bachelors and Bachelorettes that you can have a relationship with. Perhaps you may have had a Wedding with one of them, and they now live with you. But what if you want to change your partner? Is there a way to do it? Thankfully, there is indeed a way for you to divorce your current spouse in this game.

In this page, we’ll discuss the requirements before you can go through with this function. Unlike in real life, the divorce process in this game is much simpler. We’ll check the process, as well as what happens after you have divorced your current spouse.

Divorce Requirements

Perhaps the first question is why you’d want a divorce in the first place? Didn’t you work hard in order to reach 10 hearts with a candidate? Well, the game has expansion passes which provides you with new relationship options. Perhaps you’d like to try them out, or maybe you just want something new. In this game, divorce doesn’t have much consequences.

So, what are the requirements for Divorce? Well, aside from having a married status, you’ll need to have the Spirit of the Shrine in her adult form. This can be completed by collecting 100 Earth Sprites on your farm, so you better do your daily activities of clearing the land and farming. Once you have that, you can then head to the shrine to the north side of Olive Town.

How to reset Family Status

In Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town, divorce is done through a special prayer, and resetting your family status. This will end your current Marriage with your spouse, as well as remove any child that you have had with them as if they never existed.

Go to the Shrine and interact with it, and you’ll choose “Special Prayer” and then “Reset Family Status”. Once you have chosen this, you’ll be asked if you want to be single again. It will treat as if things were the way they were before you have proposed, kind of like time travel. Your day will end and you’ll move to the next day, so make sure to finish any chores that you have on your farm.

What happens after Divorce

Once the divorce has been processed, you’ll wake up to the next day and your spouse will be gone, along with any kids if you have had any. Things will be treated as if you never proposed in the first place, so you won’t find any Wedding outfits from Karina as well.

Your former spouse won’t remember any divorce as well since its treated as if you never proposed to them, they will still have a max of 10 hearts. You can then have relationships with other characters and work on their friendship, or perhaps you can Marry your former spouse once more.
