Cha-Cha Masks

You can signal Cha-Cha by first pressing the Select button to bring up the Hunter menu and then pressing the Start button. This is how you'll trigger the abilities of certain masks.

Some mask abilities require you give an item to Cha-Cha. To do so, open your hunter's Item Pouch, select the item you want to give to Cha-Cha and select the “Give” option at the bottom. Not all items can be given to Cha-Cha, so this option may be greyed out.

Acorn Mask
Unlock: Cha-Cha's default mask.
Rage: Attacks with staff
Ability: None
Skill Slots: One from Mastery Lv 0-2, two from Master Lv 3-4 and three at Mastery Lv 5

Fluffy Mask
Unlock: Complete “Playing with Fire” quest and fulfill “Fluffy Mask” villager request
Rage: May throw boomerang or Dung Bomb
Ability: Signal Cha-Cha to track large monsters on the map. Note that Cha-Cha will not attack any monsters while wearing this mask unless enraged.
Skill Slots: One from Mastery Lv 0-5

Grill Mask
Unlock: Complete “Leading the Charge” quest and fulfill the “Meaty Mask” villager request
Rage: Throws fire from grill
Ability: Give Cha-Cha Raw Meat (one at a time) and he will cook it. Signal to Cha-Cha and he will run over and present the item to you.
Skill Slots: Two at Mastery Lv 0 and three from Master Lv 1-5

Mystery Pot Mask
Unlock: Complete “Trial of the Sea Dragon” quest and fulfill the “Field of Dreams” villager request
Rage: Throws a poison bomb
Ability: Give Cha-Cha an item and he will change them into something else. Smoke will start billowing from the top of Cha-Cha's mask when the item is ready; signal Cha-Cha at this point and he will run over and present the item to you. The higher Cha-Cha's mastery of the mask, the more useful the item he produces likely is.
Skill Slots: Two from Mastery Lv 0-2 and three from Master Lv 3-5

Lamp Mask
Unlock: Complete “Dragon Lady” quest and fulfill “Lamp Mask” villager request
Rage: Throws fireball
Ability: Light radius around Cha-Cha in dark cave areas

Skill Slots: None from Mastery Lv 0-1, one from Master Lv 2-3 and two from Mastery Lv 4-5
