Leveling up in the game is tailored closely to the Fire Emblem level up system. After earning enough EXP, you’ll get a notification that the character leveled up (unless you selected the “Quick and Efficient” play style) and his/her stat increase will be displayed as well. The growth rate and stat priority will differ from character to character. At the end of the battle, the MVP character will receive bonus EXP. Lastly, you can level up another character by spending gold in the Camp’s Training menu.

The stats of each character that will be affected are as follows:
HP: Character’s max HP
STR: Power of physical attacks
DEF: Defense against physical attacks
MAG: Power of magical attacks
RES: Defense against magical attacks
SKL: Power of critical hits and Warrior Special attacks
SP: Affects the length of the Awakening state and how slow/fast the Awakening gauge depletes
LCK: Drop rate of recovery items
MOV: Affects the overall mobility of the character, including his/her dash
These stats define a character’s strength and weaknesses. This should be considered when sending them off to engage enemy warriors, bosses, or optional objectives. For example, Frederick is a very agile, mounted powerhouse unit with high attack and HP, capable of covering large distances without getting hampered by enemy hordes (he can charge through them) yet he’s permanently weak against magical attacks and those with weapons with the mountslayer attribute. Likewise, Cordelia is another mounted unit that has exceptional MOV and RES stats, allowing her to quickly get to various locations by simply gliding/flying there and effectively fight magical units. However, she’s in peril against archers and mountslayer weapons. Lisse has high STR, low DEF but exceptional RES, making her quite a bane against mages and other magical units.
