These are powerful, concentrated spots of energy that can greatly alter the battlefield to your favor. Dragon Veins are usually hidden inside forts and to make them active again, requires you to take over the fort they’re located on. Once they’re active, you still need to completely activate them by having one of your playable units to stand on it and press Y. Once activated, the changes will be applied immediately and cannot be reversed. The changes also stay even if the enemy manages to retake the fort where the Dragon Vein is located.
These are defensive emplacement that will continue attacking the opposing force of the faction controlling it. These emplacements are normally controlled by a fort beside it so to take control of these contraptions, you have to take over their corresponding forts. These are valuable offensive and defensive elements in a Map so taking control of them as early as you can will help your army maintain the advantage.
These late game capture points sustain the bosses with tremendous power, boosting their attack and defense immensely. With the healing effect of their controlled territory/ fort, this effect makes them practically immortal. You have to prioritize taking out the sages controlling the dark crystals. Fortunately, all of them are marked in the Map so avoid engaging the boss until you neutralize the dark crystals powering them.
In the later chapters in the game and in higher level maps in History Mode scenarios, you’ll encounter outrealm portals, gateways to another world where a constant stream of monsters come from. These act as Outposts, which will continue spewing enemy forces until it is closed. To close a portal, you’ll have to defeat a tougher monster or unit called an Outrealm Sentry. Once you take a sentry down, the portal will be closed for good. It’s easy to get overrun by waves upon waves of monster forces so taking these out as soon as you can will help ease the battle a lot in the long run.
