New Server Disconnection Issue!

If you are one of the many gamers who have been experiencing constant server disconnections following the Christmas 2013 Update to the game, the source of the problem has been identified and there is a fix available.

1. Bug: Constant Server Disconnection following Xmas Update

   Description: This bug was caused by a programming error in the game code that has since then been fixed.

2. Bug: Server Disconnection after 20-to-30 Seconds of Play Time

   Description: This bug is caused by the new polling system that EA's Origin Server uses plus the existence in your Origin EA / Tapped Out Account of a large number of unanswered Friend Requests.

When you log into the game everything appears to work as normal but after just twenty to thirty seconds of Game Play you get the Server Disconnected Screen below:

This bug is caused by the presence of a large number of unanswered Friend Requests in your Origin EA / Tapped Out Message Box. The game polls the Message Box for messages every 20 to 30 seconds and, when it encounters an unusually large number of outstanding friend requests -- particularly if you are already at or near the 100 Friend Limit, causes the client to sever its connection to the EA Tapped Out Server.

Solution: To fix this problem you will need to install the Origin Game Client (download that from www.origin.com) on either a desktop or a notebook PC, and then log into your account on that device and tap the "Ignore" button for ALL of the outstanding friend requests.

Tapping the Ignore Button for each Friend Request causes the request to be dismissed (canceled) and so it is no longer an active process on the server, waiting for your response.

Once you have cleared the list of Friend Requests, close the game client on your device, reload it, and the game will now play as normal without crashing the network connection.
