The Stores and Item Lists - The Simpsons: Tapped Out
As you might expect, the game contains a store which is where you can buy stuff... Ah but it is not simply a store -- it is actually a number of stores! From the game play screen tap the "Get More" button on the lower left corner, and that will open the Store Sub-Menus. On the lower-left corner of the screen is the open box button that gives access to your character's Inventory Menu, and beside that through the Homer Statue button is the Character Collections Menu -- which is useful as it shows you what characters you have obtained and unlocked so far.
Along the right bottom of the screen are five buttons, from left-to-right the first icon opens "The Store" in which you can purchase Donuts, the second button with the Buddha Homer on it opening the "Premium Stuff" Menu; the House Button opens the "Buildings" menu, the Tree-and-Bench button opens the "Decorations" menu, and the last button opens the "Land Expansion" Menu.
Depending upon what menu you are using, you gain access to different items, so naturally we will cover them all in the guide!
Using the stores players can purchase strategic items -- particularly Donuts -- in the game. The basic exchange of money for goods is handled through the regular mechanism of the iTunes account system, so purchases in the game show up as regular transactions via iTunes... Donuts being the defacto in-game currency, players can then use the donuts that they have purchased to buy Premium items from the in-game store, Cash Money, and they can utilize the donuts to speed up game play.
There are basically two types of "currency" in the game -- cash and donuts -- and while donuts can be used to buy cash, cash can NOT be used to buy donuts. Real-world money CAN be used to buy donuts however...
The following represents the current contents of the in-game stores as this guide went to press, and shopping is divided between real-world-trade (transactions using real-world money) and in-game-trade (transactions using donuts):
