Someone will probably tell you the cheat, but I think the only SMART way to get them is by trading. I've heard a lot of bad things about that doing the cheat.

Have all three starting pokemon
This is the way to start with the three starting
Pokemon (Cyndaquil, Totodile & Chikorita). 1st - Start a new game and save it b4 you choose a
Pokemon.

2nd - Choose one pokemon.

3rd - Get the pokedex, fight with your rival, go to
Elm's Lab, answer the questions and get the 5
Pokeballs.

4th - Catch a pokemon.

5th - Go to the Poke Center, deposit your starting
Pokemon then change the box. When it says 'SAVING,
DON'T TURN OFF THE POWER...' quickly, switch your
Gameboy off.

6th - Turn your gameboy on. In the main screen choose
'CONTINUE'.

7th - Repeat from step 2 allways choosing different
Starting pokemons untill you have done with all the
Three of them.

To have all three starting Pokemon
1st - Start a new game and save it before you choose a starter. 2nd - Choose one pokemon. 3rd - Go meet Mr. Pokemon, fight with your rival, go to
Elm's Lab, answer the questions and get 5
Pokeballs. 4th - Catch two pokemon. 5th - Go to the Poke Center, deposit your starter and one more
Pokemon, then change the box. When it says 'SAVING,
DON'T TURN OFF THE POWER...' quickly, switch your
Gameboy off. 6th - Turn your gameboy on. In the main screen choose
'CONTINUE'. 7th - Choose another starter and go to a Poke Center to withdraw your two pokemon. Turn off the PC and turn it on and deposite the two starters. Change box and when it says "SAVING, DONT TURN OFF THE POWER..." turn it off when the saying is in the middle.

8th - Continue your game and pick your last starter and withdraw the rest in your PC.
(NOTE: Trade the starters and trade them back so you will have them in your Pokedex as owned)
