Question for Pokemon Gold

Where do I get the town map? I am almost at the last city and I realized I never got a map!

At cherrygrove city (the very first one you come to after leaving your homethometown ) you should've let the old man show you around/talketalked to him

I beat every gym and didn't know until the guy said check your map after taking first step in Kanto.

You get the map card in Cherrygrove City from the guide.

In Cherrygrove city there is an old man who calls himself a guide.Talk to him and he will give you one after showing you around town.

In the second town (the first one after your home town) there is a old guy whos half blocking the route, talk to him, afterwards you'll be able to access the town map in your pokegear.
