Same old but new Hoenn!

Hoenn, a region that consists of a main island that stretches widely from east to west, along with countless small islets that dot the deep blue sea around it. A live volcano steams constantly in the heart of this green-covered island.

Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire players will surely appreciate how Hoenn is recreated and presented in this recent release of the well-loved franchise. The region teems with the rich beauty of nature, home to extraordinary Pokemon, and of course, diverse yet interesting people. Explore the region in glorious 3D, as introduced in Pokemon X and Y. From the start of your adventure in littleroot Town to the hidden lands where legendary Pokemon thrive, you'll be able to enjoy what beautiful Hoenn has to offer.

Special Demo Bonuses

The demo features gameplay that you won’t experience anywhere else. Unlike most demos that you can play only for a limited number of times, Pokemon OR/AS's special demo can be played as many times as you like! You can also bring a specific Pokemon to the full game, as well as the reward items that you acquired during your short demo adventure.

New Game, Same Starters

The beloved starters make a comeback to this latest installment of the series. Choosing your first Pokemon is almost as important as what version of the game you want to play; you can decide whether your first companion will be Torchic, Mudkip, or Treecko.

Delta Episode!

This special episode was not part of the original Pokémon Ruby Version and Pokémon Sapphire Version. This involves the history of the region that takes place around 3,000 years in the past. The story begins with Zinnia, a young woman who bears a certain destiny. The story includes appearances from Team Magma and Team Aqua, Steven, Gym Leader Wallace, and other familiar faces. Don't miss the conflict between Rayquaza and Deoxys!

PokeNav is a convenient and handy tool that has several very useful functions that will help make your adventure easier and interesting. It has four applications: the DexNav, enables you to Search for Pokemon in a specific area, and view more information about them like what abilities and moves they have. You can even filter out your search so you can locate where a specific Pokemon you want to catch is found. The AreaNav helps players find Pokemon and Trainers, Secret Bases, and planted Berry Trees. You can even check the status of your Berries. It still retains the capability to view each town's establishments and facilities. BuzzNav is an application that will allow you to watch news about the region, in-game TV shows, and news from other players you meet via Streetpass. Finally, PlayNav brings you back the Pokemon X/Y applications PSS, Pokemon-Amie, and Super Training all in one menu.

Bird's eye view of Hoenn

Players will be able to fly freely in the skies of Hoenn. Once they have the Eon Flute, they can call on Latios/ Latias. This will make them Mega-Evolve and give them a ride. You can even battle wild flying Pokemon in mid-air, and even check out specific special locations called Mirage Spots. These mysterious locations may contain rare Pokemon, valuable items, and better yet, legendary Pokemon!

Pokemon Contest Spectaculars

Your Pokemon is not only trained for battle; you can even train them to compete in the game's Contests! There are five contests you can choose to enter: Coolness, Beauty, Cuteness, Cleverness, and Toughness. AThe winner Pokemon for these contests is determined by having the most appeal. You can also improve their contest condition by feeding them special snacks called Pokeblocks. These are made by blending berries. The type of Pokeblock you'll make and the attribute they improve will depend on the mixture. Check this page within the guide for more details about this feature!

Cosplay Pikachu?!

After participating in your first contest, a special Cosplay Pikachu will join your team. Cosplay Pikachu will be able to use moves that are normally unavailable to a normal Pikachu. No other Pikachu that you catch or get other than this one can dress up to different costumes. These moves depend on the costume it has on.

Originally introduced in Pokemon X and Pokemon Y, Pokemon-Amie returns on Pokemon AS / OR to help trainers bond with their favorite Pokemon. As the bond between the trainer and Pokemon deepens, the Pokemon will perform excellently in battle like evading attacks or landing critical hits to opponents.

Super Secret Bases

Super Secret Bases return in Pokemon Alpha Sapphire and Pokemon Omega Ruby. Thanks to the 3DS's communication features, your secret base is not only limited to decorating it. Now you can connect with other players and share your Secret Bases with one another. If you visit another players' bases, you'll find the base members hanging around there. Depending on the base owner's settings, you can talk to the owner's team members or battle them! You can even scout your favorite base owners to become one of your Secret Pals and bring them back to your own base!

Horde Trainer Battles

Pokemon X and Pokemon Y introduced Horde Battles where a single Pokemon can encounter a horde of wild Pokemon. Now in Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire, players will face off multiple trainers at once in a Horde Trainer battle. The level of their Pokemon may be understandably low but remember, there's always strength in numbers!
