Watch the scene as you enter the city. Enter the Poké Mart and talk to the guy near the counter. He will give you TM54 False Swipe. This is a useful move in catching Pokémon as it ensures that there is at least 1HP left in the Pokémon that you are attacking.

Exit the Poké Mart and head to the house to the Pokémon Trainer’s School. It is the building to the right of the Pokémon Center. Talk to the first guy you see to know more about Hoenn’s Gym Badges. Talk to the teacher at the back for a Quick Claw.

Enter the Pokémon Center and talk to the guy in front of the Hoenn Map. He will ask what type of trainer you look like. Choosing your preferred trainer will change your Public Icon in your PSS. You can also do this manually through your PSS.

Exit the Pokémon Center and enter Cutter’s house to the left. Talk to the guy inside to obtain HM01 Cut.

Leave the house and enter the large building behind it. Take the stairs to the second floor and to to the Ace for a Float Stone. Go inside the bedroom are and talk to the young boy and he will give you a Premier Ball. There’s nothing else left here so leave the building.

Head for the upper right area to reach this city’s gym. The house to its right has a kid that wants to trade his Makuhita for your Slakoth. The Makuhita that he will trade you is nicknamed Makit. If you don’t want to trade, enter the gym for your first gym battle.
