The Online side of Horizon 2 is a lot more robust and attractive than that of the original game that established the series. Split between Online Road Trips (Road Trips you do with your mates), and Online Free Roam - which allows you to cruise, do Online Events, you name it, it is up to you!
An Introduction to Horizon Online...
Access to Horizon Online is accomplished in one of two ways - either hit the Pause Menu and select it, or open the World Map and pick one of the Online Events that are marked there - SUCH as the Online Road Trips.
Once you have initiated Horizon Online you can hook up with your mates and play together, while earning Credits and XP as well as the following Achievements:
- Horizon Leader (20G) Choose where the Road Trip goes for the first time.
- Loyal (25G) Earn 500,000 XP for your Club.
- On the Road Again (10G) Complete an Online Road Trip location.
- Social Butterfly (50G) Complete in 200 Multiplayer Events.
- Social Caterpillar (10G) Complete in 20 Multiplayer Events.
- Team Player (30G) Win 50 Team Events.
- We Are Playground Games (40G) Complete 100 Playground Games Events.
- Well Traveled (30G) Complete 25 Online Road Trip locations.
- Yes We Can (30G) Complete 25 Bucket List items cooperatively.
Another aspect of the Online side is the meet-ups that you can do at any Car Meet site (which is just another way of sharing online). The following apply there:
- Super Meet Boy (10G) Grab a livery, grab a tuning setup, buy a car, and enter a Showdown at any Car Meet.
- We Meet Again! (20G) Win a Showdown at every Car Meet.
At any Car Meet you can check out the other Cars (think ForzaVista), trade in Tunes and Livery, and do the Showdowns.

OK when you first load the game you will actually appear in the game world at the closest Car Meet - but if you are playing the game you will need to GO to the closest Car Meet. You can get the online pickup races there. Otherwise you can select the online Road Trip events from the map.
