Last Updated:

At this point we have completed the Road Trip system up to and including unlocking and visiting each of the cities, so this is where the Road Trips begin to recycle previous destinations. We know that was going to happen though, so it is not that big a surprise.

When you are ready to resume the campaign, simply visit the Horizon Festival and select the Road Trip and you are offered three Championships to choose from. Three RANDOM ones from the list of the races you have not yet run - so each will be tagged NEW.

It really doesn't matter which you choose - but we decided to go with an Offroad Race for the Guide since we have not really done much on that side of the game yet...

Extreme Offroad Championship

This race uses the Extreme Offroad Class - so we got to choose from the following three vehicles:

  • 2011 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor

  • 2014 Local Motors Rally Fighter

  • 2013 RAM Runner

After really thinking it over the Rally Gighter appeared to be the most capable of the choices so... Once you pick your race and ride, you are going to cycle back into what we call the Rinse & Repeat Mode - basically the Road Trip system is going to re-run but with different races in order to get you through the number left to run the Horizon Championship Race.

So go ahead, pick a race - doesn't matter which - then head for Castelletto and win you another four races and a Championship, then continue on to

After Castelletto there are 8 more Championships to go to the Horizon Championship - which translates into 32 more races.

Next on the RT is Montellino - after you pick a new ride and race. there is a refreshing pause for a new Showcase Event - woot!

Showcase: Pitting the Lancia 037 vs 37 Hot Air Balloons!

At the Showcase 37 Versus 037 you are to drive a Lancia 037 versus 37 Balloons - Hot Air Balloons! THis is not really that hard - just race full bore. As was the case with the previous Showcase Events winning means you get to keep the car.

Now head back to the Hub at Montellino and then on to Nice-Massena. Once you complete the races here it is the end of the current Road Trip - so hit the hub and head back to the Festival for the Awards Party!

The next RT takes us to Sisteron, then San Giovanni. After completing the Championship you trigger the next Showcase Event - North by Northwest - a classic reference to the famous Carey Grant film of that name. Basically you race a crop duster in a Ford Raptor. Simple enough, right?

After you complete the Showcase Event it is off to Saint-Martin, a new Championship and a new ride. With the Championship in the bag head back to the Saint-Martin Hub and then return to the Festival for the Rewards Ceremony.

With that done it is time to head out on the next RT, this time to Nice-Messena and a new race and ride! With that one in the bag it is time for the final Showcase Event - Storm Chaser!

Showcase: Racing against a Freaking HUGE Cargo Plane?!

For this fifth and last Showcase we are up against a Cargo Plane - and remember it does NOT matter who gets through the Checkpoints - what matters is who crosses the finish line FIRST.

Once you have that one out of the way - and won - and a new car in your garage - you need to regroup at the Hub and then head continue the RT to Castelletto.

From this point onward there are no more Showcase Events - it is nothing but winning the Championships until you have enough to qualify for the Horizon Championship itself. Once THAT happens, it's back to the Festival Grounds for that very special race!

The Horizon Championship

At this point the icon for the Festival has turned Gold - to let you know that you have finally made it. You have arrived! It is time for the race for all the marbles - the whole enchilada! The Big One! Numero Uno Race-oh! You get the idea :)

So return to the Festival and begin the Horizon Finale. Ben explains to you that you can pick any ride you like and he will make sure that all of the other Cars are of a similar capability....

A few comments about this race - first, it is a major race. And what we mean by that is that it is about 10 times longer than any of the previous races you have driven because why? Because it hits every major area on the map, that is why!

Another point to be made, no matter what car you choose, it is going to be both fun and challenging because it is so long. Plenty of opportunity for you to make mistakes and let the other racers get one over on you!

Still by the time you finish you will both know you were in a major race - and be happy it is done. Seriously.

More important than that though - you have pretty much completed the game! All that is left from here is to wrap up the rest of the Championships for the Achievements, then do the online RTs and etc. for the rest. But then that will actually provide if not as much time again as you have already spent playing, then perhaps twice as much.

More important, as they release new car packs, you will have the opportunity to play with new rides - and online play will remain fun and hopefully challenging as well as a result. Since there is nothing wrong with having one of each car in your garage, you might want to make that a goal too.

We hope that you found this WTG as useful as it was fun for us to make! Be well, and game on!

After the race officially ends you unlock the Achievement: Horizon Champion (50G) Become the Horizon Champion.

Choosing the RT Destination

Oh, you thought you were done?! No! Not quite yet... See now you get to race Ben - you know, the last Festival Champ? Yeah, so you pick the destination, you pick the race class, and you pick your ride - and then you race!

Doing this immediately unlocks the Achievement: Horizon Leader (20G) Choose where the Road Trip goes for the first time....

Once you arrive at the RT destination, you get to race a Championship with Ben. Basically what this does is it restarts the Championship run to the Horizon Festival Race - which is how as you repeat this over and over again, you will eventually get all 168 Championship races done. So how about that?

I was wondering about what happens after you complete all 168 championships in Forza Horizon 2. Can someone please help me out?

When you join the Road Trip for the story mode you are told the destination - when you do it for the multi-player online side, you vote for it.

If you're talking about the road trip destination, you need to become the Horizon Champion. Otherwise you press the button with two squares overlapping on the Xbox One controller, or the small white button to the left of the home button on the Xbox 360 controller. Then hover over where you want to set the destination and press A.
