The Valkyria is the goddess-like being that’s on Ruk’s side. She’s has very powerful attacks that cause major damage and several status effects at the same time. Your first encounter with it will be quite the challenge, even with properly-leveled units. Make sure to interrupt its attacks, heal often, and revive allies quickly. She’s invulnerable when she’s in mid-action and calls in azure flames as reinforcements. Make sure to kill these little buggers quickly since they help amplify the Valkyria’s power and deal area-of-effect as well. The Valkyria will also appear at night during free Missions, especially if it took you long enough to complete the tasks. Her arrival is usually accompanied by an eerily beautiful song.
Since it has access to all elements, the Valkyria can perform different attacks with different properties. The element active at her disposal will be represented by a floating orb around her. The orb’s color will correspond the element she currently have active. Fortunately, you’re not entirely at a disadvantage. Based on the color of the floating orb around her, you need to hit her with an elemental spell that she’s currently weak against.
Here’s the simple rule:
Fire Water
Wind Earth
Hitting her with her weak element will negate her aura and interrupt her actions. You can also interrupt her using powerful blasts such as explosives and launchers. Use these as your last resort especially when she starts spamming AoE attacks that severely restrict your movements, cause status effects, and damage you at the same time.
Later on, Ophelia will gain access to Galdr skills which is practically a good counter against the Valkyria’s attacks. This will not make her a bit less threatening so make sure to always keep your guard up and fight strategically when facing her.
