Saying Goodbye to a Spirit

In Spiritfarer, it is Stella’s job to help fulfill the wishes and requests of Spirits that are able to join onboard her ship. Eventually, you’ll be able to complete each of these, and they will be able to move on to the afterlife by passing through the Everdoor.

There are 11 Spirits in the game and they all have their own quirks in terms of needs. However, there will come a time where you have provided all of their needs and there isn’t much to do left but to say your goodbye to them. Each Spirit that you will help will have to go through this process as well. In this page, we’ll provide you with an example of one Spirit’s farewell.

How Goodbyes work

Each Spirit that goes onboard your ship will have specific needs and requests. Therefore, there isn’t any specific order that you’ll have to follow in terms of completing them. Everything will be up to you, and you should play the game according to your pace. Completing one request will provide another one, and then you’ll have to complete each of them.

Eventually, you’ll be able to finish off a Spirit’s list of needs. They will then be fulfilled with the life that they had, and they will be finally be ready to move on. For this page, we’ll be providing an example of Gwen’s goodbye since she is the first spirit that you have met after all.

Gwen’s final request: One Last Time

If you keep continuing and finishing Gwen’s requests, you can check the Captain’s Log to see if you have completed the request called “I Must be Off”. This is the part where you have entered Gwen’s lodge after she locked herself in for quite some time. Eventually, the next that will appear for Gwen is called “One Last Time” and you’ll have to set your destination to the Everdoor.

Gwen will ride with you on your small boat, and along the way she’ll have a talk with Stella. You’ll get to know about Gwen’s experiences and about her life. Once you reach the Everdoor at the end, she’ll finally move on. She won’t be your passenger any longer, and you won’t be able to see her again.

You’ll get to be in an area as well where you can view different memories that you have had with Gwen. This area will have glowing orbs that you can interact with as you continue up. Eventually, you’ll finally meet Hades who you can talk to. Once the talk with him is finished, you’ll be back on your Ship. Checking Gwen’s cabin will only show that it’s now empty, but you’ll be able to find a spirit flower there.

How to end the game

The process of saying goodbye will repeat for each spirit that you have helped throughout the game. As mentioned earlier, there are a total of 11 spirits in the game and each of them have their own quirks in terms of needs and requests. However, if you wish to finish the game, you will only need to assist 8 at minimum.

You can head back to the Everdoor after you have helped 8 spirits, and you can end your game there. If you want to complete the game fully however, it would be best for you to find all 11 and complete all of their needs.
