Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Siege Guide Video

Basic Tips

1.) Buy yourself a headset / microphone. - Yes, having a microphone / headset is pretty much mandatory when you want to enjoy Rainbow Six: Siege. Communication is key in this game. You cannot just channel Rambo and enter rooms and shoot around. You need to constantly be wary of your allies' positions, and this is much easier when you are communicating through voice, rather than chat and in-game pings. Rainbow Six Siege's sessions are short and quick. Fast reactions are important for you to win the rounds. Otherwise, you are just going to get run over by a more cohesive unit.

2.) Teamwork - Kills mean nothing when your team keeps on getting wrecked. Follow the objectives, and stick to the plan of your teammates. It is very rare for you to survive a 1vs5 shootout (even at 1vs2) because the game follows a more realistic rules when it comes to taking damage. You get shot in the head (or any vital parts of your body) and you are dead.

3.) Environment - Everything in this game is destructible. Just like in the video above, you can pretty much shoot enemies hiding in rooms. You can shoot through walls. Always clear the room, watch out for sharp curves and waist high covers, as enemies might be lurking there. There are gadgets that scan heartbeat in an area or even capture video feed of a room from a distance. Use these to know the positions of the opponents before breaching the rooms.

4.) Unexpected Maneuvers - If you are the defending team, try not to pour all of your gadgets in the target sites. Put them on choke points, your opponent's preferred entry locations, the stairs, and even those rooms that offer insignificant value. In fact, it is better to set up defenses around the area than the actual target site.

5.) Slowly and Surely - Running around when get you killed right there and then. Do not rush into rooms. Run only when needed as running create so much noise. Certain classes has synergy like the Rook and the Pulse. In this setup, for example, the Rook just take all the bullets because he is shielded, and the Pulse just fire from behind with its arsenal.
