Introduction Round
This is the first part of the contest where your Pokemon will be judged based on the stat corresponding the Contest you've entered. The best way to complete this round is by using Pokeblocks to boost the particular stat needed for the contest.
Talent Round
This is the main part of the contest where your Pokemon have to use moves to gain the appeal of the judges and the crowd. Doing so will also boost your Excite Meter. You only have five turns to perform this so you need to carefully choose your Pokemon's moves.
Combos
To be more effective, use moves that match the contest type and perform combos to impress the audience.
Cool Moves
Another strategy you can apply is using moves that can startle other Pokemon to make them lose their appeal or make them nervous that they won't be able to use their moves.
Audience Excitement
All participating Pokemon in the contest can affect the excitement of the audience. While cool moves and combos increase their excitement, using moves that doesn't match the contest type or the Pokemon's stat will have negative effect instead.
Since the other Pokemon contestants can also affect the overall crowd excitement, things may not go as you want/ planned. You need to time your appealing moves so the excitement gauge will be full on your turn. Doing so will allow your Pokemon to pull off a special move that will even give you a bonus.
If you're using a Pokemon that can Mega Evolve and if the audience's excitement meter is full during its turn, it will be able to Mega Evolve and perform an even more astounding move that will earn you an even greater bonus.
I thought that you could distract other pokemon or something. Can you use legendaries?
