If you use one of the rods to go fishing you will improve your chances of getting a Shiny Pokemon when you start a battle from fishing. It also helps if you try and stay in the same place you start by using the Suction Cups and Sticky Hold abilities in your lead Pokemon.
Usually the chances of catching a Shiny Pokemon is 1 in 8192, if however you receive the Shiny Charm as a reward from Professor Birch for capturing ALL 718 Pokemon you will significantly increase your chance.
When you breed two Pokemon from games of two different languages your chances of getting a Shiny Pokemon increase to 1 in 1366.
To gain O-Powers you need to check in regularly at the Mauville City Pokemon Center where you will find a stranger at the top right corner near the map. Talk to him to get your first two O-Powers and keep returning to that location at future times to find different people. When you talk to these people you will receive additional O-Powers.

When you complete the following tasks in the Battle Maison you will earn the corresponding reward.
Starf Berry:
Win 200 straight battles of any type and speak with a girl in one of the cabins near the Maison.
Lansat Berry:
Win 100 straight battles of any type and speak with a girl in one of the cabins near the Maison.
Monuments:
You get one monument each for earning 50 straight wins in Super Single, Super Double, Super Triple, Super Multi, and Super Rotation Battles.
To bypass the censor on this game use double lettering for one letter on a random swear you use. It only works on the middle letters not beginning and end letters. So have a try.
This bike enables you to move two times the normal speed and is capable of climbing the slopes on cliffsides when you approach them at full speed. If you go onto Cycling Road from the north gate and reach the bottom gate while riding the Mach Bike, you will also be timed and your number of collisions is counted. The Mach bike is acquired from Rydel's Cycles in Mauville City.
This foldable bike can be used to do stunts like wheelies and bunny hops, it is faster than running and is useful for reaching certain items in a variety of areas. It is acquired from Rydel's Cycles in Mauville City.
The Aqua Suit is acquired from Archie in Sootopolis City and is made from the collective technical knowledge of Team Aqua. It is strong and durable enough to absorb any impact.
The Devon scuba gear is acquired from Steven's house in Mossdeep City and provides oxygen when you are using Dive.

Buy for 1,000 from the Fallarbor Town Poke Mart. The Dive Ball is useful for catching underwater Pokemon.

Buy for 1,000 from the Fallarbor Town Poke Mart. The Dusk Ball is useful for catching Pokemon in caves and wild Pokemon between 8:00 pm. And 3:59 am.
Great Ball:
Buy for 600 at Poke Marts after you have earned your first Gym Badge. The Great Ball has a higher catch rate than the standard Poke Ball.
Heal Ball:
Buy for 300 from the Verdanturf Town Poke Mart. The Heal Ball will restore caught Pokemon's HP and fixes ALL status conditions.

To get starter Pokemon from previous regions you must first defeat the Elite Four before going to Route 101 and finding Professor Birch. This process can be repeated several times and based on how many times you have beaten the Elite four will determine which starter you can obtain.
Johto Starters (Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile):
Defeat the Elite Four 1 time.
Unova Starters (Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott):
Defeat the Elite Four 2 times.

After you have participated in your first Pokemon Contest in Slateport City, you will be given a special Cosplay Pikachu. This Pikachu will have special stats depending on their contest type. They also have their Hidden Ability.
You can even change it's costume by talking with the attendant near the wardrobe in any Contest Hall.
DexNav is a feature apart of the PokeNav Plus. You can use this feature to describe Pokemon poking out of tall grass. Some of these Pokemon have rare moves or their Hidden Abilities.
In order to get both the Acro and Mach Bike, you must first complete a couple of tasks:
1) Show the Mach Bike to the Hex Maniac on Route 111
2) Show the Acro Bike to the Bird Keeper on Route 119
3) Talk with the Athlete in the Battle Resort
After doing all of these, you will be able to obtain the other bike from Rydel's Cycles in Mauville City.
You can find the Masterball deep inside Team Aqua's Hideout. It is the only one found in-game. It will catch any Pokemon without fail.
Old Rod - Can be obtained from the Fisherman in Dewford Town.
Good Rod - Can be obtained from the Fisherman on Route 118.
Super Rod - Can be obtained from the Fisherman in Mossdeep City.
If Rayquaza knows the move Dragon Ascent, it will Mega Evolve during battle. Dragon Ascent can be taught to any Rayquaza by talking to Zinnia's Grandmother in Meteor Falls after completing the Delta Episode.
