Treasure/Scavenger Hunts: Kaer Morhen

To make this guide easier to use we break each of the Acts up into their logical components, divided as makes sense for that purpose. The following are the Hunts for the main story that take place during the period in which you are based in Kaer Morhen...

Scavenger Hunt: Wolf School Gear Upgrade Diagrams

Find the Wolf School upgrades

Flagged from a map/document purchased from a merchant - Suggested Level 14

Note: This set of quests comes AFTER you have unlocked Kaer Morhen - so you will not see these until that point in the story!

Gathering a good set of gear is a mater of life and death for a Witcher. It came as no surprise then, that Geralt was delighted when he picked up the trail of a high-quality bit of Wolf School equipment, and it likewise came as no surprise when he decided to follow this trail.

Remember that Kaer Morhen - and YOU - are of the Wolf School!

As you search the tower you recharge the crystal that is still on the wall but clearly it is not enough. You need to find the other missing crystal - that can be found outside above the catwalk on the side set on a shelf there. Grab it and head back in, returning it to the portal. Once you install it you use Aard to power it then head through the now stable portal!

When you reach the other side you have to kill the Wraith there then loot the body to get four of the six original diagrams and a note. Read the note.

When you arrive at the Bastion it turns out it is haunted by Wraiths! You need to kill them all to clear it and then use the Magic Lamp to look around...

Follow the marked path with the lam and you will uncover memories of old events - search the area for additional memories - below the area you will spot the body with the Steel Sword Diagram and a journal on it. Head down and claim those!

That is 5/6 and you need to read Varin's Journal...

To reach the Watch Tower Fast Travel to the lake and use the boat - dock at the old Tower Dock and then head to the entrance and kill the Wraith. Loot the body there to get the final diagram and that completes this quest. However be sure to go inside and loot the chest on the scaffold as it has an Enhanced Diagram in it that is for another quest.

Objectives

• Read the mage Hieronymus' note

• Use your Witcher Senses to examine the portal's mechanism

• Charge the crystal using the Aard Sign

• Find the missing crystal needed to power the generator

• Mount the crystal in the generator and charge it using a Sign

• Enter Hieronymus' portal and explore the location on the other side

• Read Hieronymus' last words

• Search the ruins of the bastion near Kaer Morhen

• Read Varin's Journal

• Search the ruined watch tower near Kaer Morhen

Geralt happened across a map which contained markings showing the locations of caches of old Witcher diagrams. He set out to find them in hopes of improving his equipment.

Find the Wolf School upgrades

Geralt happened across a map which contained markings showing the locations of caches of old Witcher diagrams. He set out to find them in hopes of improving his equipment.

Remember that Kaer Morhen - and YOU - are of the Wolf School!

The Gauntlets Diagram are in the Iron Mine defended by a Level 30 Earth Elemental. Man nothing dulls a blade faster than using it to kill an Earth Elemental!

The Trouser Diagram is concealed in the depths of the Mutagen Cave where the transformations were made. You need to clear it of monsters and then search until you find the chest.

The final diagram - the Boots - are found in a monster cave way up river - just follow the banks to the marker. After you clear the cave blow down the rocks to find the chest and loot the Diagram and that completes this quest!
