Scavenger Hunt: Bear School Gear

Find the Bear School Diagrams

During one of his many escapades, Geralt happened across the diagram of a powerful item that once belonged to a legednary Witfher of the Bear School. He decided to investigate further, hoping there was more where that came from...

The destination for this hunt is the northern island, where you will find a Troll blocking the way - so kill it and then proceed to the castle ruins. The path up is tricky and requires a few big jumps but you can get there if you persist.

Once you are inside the ruins work your way along the corridor pausing to pick up the Ballad of Torgeir the Red from the floor. That is a quest item so open the menu and read it. Ahead is a wraith you will need to trap to kill.

Use the lever to open the door behind you and then trap and kill more wraiths. The first cell on the left has had its floor collapse and you can use that to jump down into the dungeon level, so head down there, kill some more wraiths, and then head up the stairs, climb into the gap above and blow down the rocks that are blocking the path.

The chest we have been hunting is ahead in the throne room here - it contains The Ballad of Witcher Gerd, Chronicles of the Clan Tuiseach, and the Ursine armor, boots, gauntlets, and trousers Diagrams That is four of the seven Diagrams we are looking for.

After reading the tome your next destination is the small island to the west of the main isle at its southern edge, and the northern part of the main Isle.

On the small island you head to the shore to the south and search through the Siren's cave for the skeleton, which has the Letter to Ingeborge Kalebsdotter ad the Ursine crossbow Diagram on it!

Note: When you enter this cave it automatically flags the Contract: Here Comes the Groom.

So as you enter the cave BEFORE the first large chamber with the goddess effigy in it you should turn back around and climb up the right side ledge - the body with the letter and Diagram is on this ledge. That is Diagram 5 of 7!

On the main Isle you head up to the marker you will first encounter a Gargoyle in the low 20's but BE WARNED there is a Level 30 Ice Elemental here as well! How you take it out will largely depend on your current level and combat skills as well as Kit... We found that a combination of fire magic and Crossbow did the trick without getting us hurt.

Inside the ruins is the body with an Arrest Warrant for the Witcher Gerd, The Knight Chalmir's Letter and the silver sword Diagram which is Diagram 6 of 7.

The next - and last - destination is the southeast shore of the main Isle, near Fyresdal, where you will find the ruins of the inn. In the basement of the inn is a chest with an Innkeep's notes and the Ursine steel sword Diagram, which is 7/7 and that completes the quest!

During one of his numerous adventures, Geralt got his hands on a map covered with strange markings. He quickly decided that they indicated the locations of hidden Witcher caches and, intrigued by the chance of discovering long-lost crafting schematics, he set out to find them.

The three markers are easily reached for the most part with the one on the south coast in The Grotto easiest to reach by boat... When you arrive you head deep into the Grotto where you encounter some Bandits. After you kill them you will find the chest with the Enhanced Ursine Armor Diagram in it.

The Ursine Silver Sword - Enhanced is found in a ruin along the east coast that is easiest to reach by boat. The chest is inside the second chamber...

Inside the cave on the southeast coast of the main Isle is the chest with the Enhanced Ursine Boots Diagram, and grabbing it completes the quest.

In the north central part of the main isle is hte marker - you will find the chest with the gauntlets in the ruins of the tower on the road.

The second diagram is a bit trickier as it is on a very small island in the western sea!

During one of his numerous adventures, Geralt got his hands on a map covered with strange markings. He quickly decided that they indicated the locations of hidden Witcher caches and, intrigued by the chance of discovering long-lost crafting schematics, he set out to find them.

The armor diagrams are found in a chest in the Monster Den with the Statue puzzle south of Trottheim.

The silver sword diagram is found in the Monster Den south of the arena.

The steel sword diagram is found at Kaer Gelen.

During one of his numerous adventures, Geralt got his hands on a map covered with strange markings. He quickly decided that they indicated the locations of hidden Witcher caches and, intrigued by the chance of discovering long-lost crafting schematics, he set out to find them.

Basically you are looking for the Witcher symbols that will be carved into a wall or rock - or a rock wal! Once you find that, you know you are in the right place.

The Superior Silver Sword Diagram is found in a chest deep in the cave past the symbol on the south coast near the lighthouse.

Loot the Superior Griffin Armor, Gauntlets, Trousers, and Boots from the Bandit Camp on the northeast coast of the main Isle is another Bandit Camp with the Superior Griffin Steel Sword Diagram. Once you loot that you complete the quest!

On the small island north of the main Isle is the final piece.

Flagged by reading a letter found in a chest -- Suggested Level: 13

During his travels Geralt came across a well-work letter. It had clearly been folded and unfolded many times by someone who had often found reason to refer to its contents.

Certain of where you need to look, and using your Witcher Senses, you locate and claim the Treasure, thus completing this quest!

After reading the note you look for and find the Treasure chest sunk below the waters of the nearby lake. Diving down you empty the cheast and complete this very brief quest!

They say one can hardly spit in Skellige without splashing a pirate or a pirate's Treasure. Geralt's adventures confirmed the wisdom of this proverb several times over. For example, one day he happened across a letter indicating the location of some hidden plundered booty...

Geralt found a map on the isle of Undvik with a key attached to it and a location deep in the isle's interior marked on it. This had all the making sof a fine Treasure hunt.

It really does have uins - and some Sirens - and some Treasure - so get it to complete the quest!

Flagged when you loot a bag from the boat at the Hidden Treasure -- Suggested Level: 13

Geralt found some cryptic notes which seemed to be hiding some sort of secret. He decided to investigate further. Find the Treasure under the lake to complete the quest!

Treasure Hunt: Unlucky's Treasure

Flagged from the island Griffin Nest at the "?" -- Suggested Level: 48

While traveling through Skellige Geralt found the body of a warrior who had been torn apart by some monster. The poor fellow had ben carrying a particularly intriguing document when he died.

This one is a "?" located on one of the eastern small island that in addition to having the Hidden Treasure found in the Griffin Nest also has a very high-level Griffin! We approached this at Level 33 and the Skull above the Griffin's head to indicate that we were biting off more than we could chew should have dissuaded us but did not.

Careful to keep our shield cast, and using nearly every type of bomb we had we simply chipped away at its health until it died while going no more than 1/2 health ourselves. Quite a battle to be sure! But that was only half of the adventure. Once the Griffin was killed we looted the flag element for this quest from its nest.

Once you have the Griffin killed there is no reason NOT to get the Treasure!
