Party Tactics

During battle, you can change your party members’ behavior and actions by assigning tactics to them. You can give them instructions or command them directly. While ordering your teammates gives a better tactical advantage, there are certain battle scenarios where you want specific characters to take on specific roles like attacker or healer.

Outside of battle, you can access the Tactics menu by selecting Stats from the main menu. During battle, you need to press the L2 button during the main character’s turn then select the tactics option.

The instructions you can give them are as follows:

• Act Freely - Character will act on his/her own
• Full Assault - Use Skills frequently to attack the enemy
• Conserve SP - Focus on using physical or gun attacks
• Heal / Support - Focus on healing, status Ailment recover, buffing, and reviving.

Special Orders

There are certain battles, like in boss battles where you can carry out special orders. When this tactic is carried out successfully, the flow of battle will turn greatly to your favor like weakening the target or disabling some of its abilities. The first time you’ll get to execute this tactic is during the first main boss battle.

You have to select the party member that you think has the highest chance to succeed. Take note however, that the selected party member will act independently until the execution of the special order so you’ll be left with one less party member for a certain number of turns.
