(Stealing the Heart)
Head to the control room and activate the lever to start the operation. After the cutscene, exit through the window and continue along the path until you reach a portal that will take you back to the Central Garden. After the cutscene, you’ll have to fight Madarame’s shadow form.
Boss:
Avoid using all-party attacks in this battle since each part has different overlapping weaknesses and strengths. The mouth can absorb physical and gun attacks while the eyes can absorb elemental attacks. The nose doesn’t seem to have any other resistance (possibly against nuclear and/or psychic?)
Use physical attacks on the eyes, elemental attacks on the mouth, and anything on the nose. You can’t exploit any weakness so you have to heal up as needed since you’ll be taking damage, depending on the surviving part.
After taking out the parts, the body of the real Madarame will temporarily emerge. You can perform an all-out attack when this happens. Also, use your most powerful attacks while Madarame’s out. He can attack everyone but the damage is negligible.
After one turn when he’s out, he’ll retreat back to his ink and summon a fully replenished Painter’s parts. Repeat the same tactic; avoid attacking their strengths and use your most powerful attacks they’re not strong against. Be careful of its move called Artist’s Grace as it will make the afflicted character weak to all affinities. This move allow the boss to perform deadly follow up attacks to the target.
After taking out the paintings, you should be able to take out Madarame during the second time he emerges. Land the finishing moves until you finish him off. After the battle, you’ll be back in the real world. Congratulations for clearing your second palace!
