Adventure Mode has a total of 128 different scenarios where you can unlock more Heart Containers, Heart Pieces, Weapons, Gold Skulltulas, and more additional warriors. You can play any character or weapon in most scenarios though some of them may require specific Characters and/or weapons.

You're free to select which scenarios you want to play though you have to unlock the other grids by completing any of the available grids and achieving the Rank indicated for that scenario. All scenarios in Adventure Mode will take into account how fast you complete the stage and how little damage you take. A lot of other scenarios consider the KO count as well.

Guide Image

You can attempt Adventure Mode early but it is suggested that you complete Legend Mode first to unlock all the available Characters in that mode. Take note that some of the color-coded stages in the map won't be available until you complete specific scenarios in Legend Mode. See these levels below:

Grid Required Legend Mode Scenario
Green The Sorceress of the Valley
Purple The Water Temple
Orange The Shadow King
Brown Sealed Ambition
Blue Shining Beacon
Red Liberation of the Triforce

Unlockables

The top portion of the screen will display the Items you can unlock in each scenario. Items listed in the "A Rank Victory" square means that you'll obtain the items by completing the scenario with an A rank. Items listed under "Battle Victory" will ensure that you'll get that item upon successfully completing the scenario. The items listed in the "Treasure" section can be found within the Scenario. This section will discuss the conditions for getting these treasures as well.

As mentioned earlier, some Items can be acquired by playing specific Characters. You'll unlock most of the playable characters by completing Legend Mode. Take note that DLC characters (Cia, Volga, and Wizzro) are not required in any of the scenarios so you don't need to level them up immediately. The other remaining characters can be acquired by completing specific scenarios in Adventure Mode.

Item Cards

These are key in unlocking certain scenarios, and Items. It can be acquired mostly as rewards for completing scenarios in Adventure Mode. There are 12 different Item Cards, each with corresponding elements they can interact with. They can be used in grids where the "A Rank Victory" tab says "Requires Search". That said, you can't use any Item Card; you have to inspect closely in the Search Screen and spot the area that stands out from the rest. Using the correct Item Card will unlock the reward in that grid. Refer to the items listed below to know what Item Card to use on the right area/object.
