STRANGER AND FREAKS #19 Grass Roots - The Pickup

After you have done the big job for the FIB Trevor and Franklin will get a chance to meet our pot-smoking advocate Barry. Have Franklin go meet him and later Barry will put two green investigation circles on the map. Head to the eastern one for this mission. You'll find the area you're supposed to be in in the southern part of the circle, off the main roads.

You have to drive back a truck (with pot) back to Vespucci Beach for Barry. However there is something notable about this mission: as soon as you try to enter any type of conventional street, several cop cars will home in on your location and you'll have a two-star wanted level. It's a sting!

There's really two ways to complete this mission: with the wanted level and without. If you don't have any fore-knowledge you are going to get that wanted level. The best thing you can do here is to get over the sewer canal into Los Santos and start trying to evade the cops. You'll want to continue going east though, as you only have 4 minutes to get to your destination. You should focus on getting there (or getting close) before evading the cops. Also ideally you will put down a custom marker on the map of your destination as the sting wipes the auto-navigation off the map completely. It is a challenge, but very possible to reach your destination while losing the cops.

Now, the second way to do this mission is with a little more foresight. See the medal requirements? They basically tell you that there is a way *not* to get caught (and there is!). From your starting point take a right and then another right. You'll see some road barriers. Drive through them and down into the canal. Now head southwest down the canal. This route lets you evade the initial police sting! From there you should aim for the Jamestown Street and Little Big Horn Avenue Intersection to get back onto some proper roads and then hightail it to the destination for a gold medal on this mission.
