Outposts - and the capture of the same - are a major element in the game play you are about to undertake, so we thought it might be helpful to you to provide some basic tops as to how you go about taking them down.

Bearing in mind that as you progress through the story and reach each new area the difficulty for each Outpost will grow harder - that is OK, you will also grow tougher, more capable, and have a better grasp of the tactics for combat in the game, so it all evens out.

That said though, the following are basics that apply to all Outpost efforts and you will want to take them to heart:

Bring a silenced distance weapon - preferably a Sniper Rifle.

Bring Bait so you can use the local Animals as backup.

Bring Movotove Cocktails and Grenades so you can entertain groups of soldiers.

Remember you have an unlimited supply of rocks to use as distraction devices.

Under ideal circumstances an Outpost attack should be similar to peeling an onion. You start with the outer layer of defenders and take them down - ideally without alerting any of the OTHER defenders to that Action and avoiding the sounding of any alarms.

Speaking of alarms, it is ALWAYS a good idea to note their locations, and to take them out as soon as you can so that there are no opportunities once a defender becomes aware of your presence to actually USE them.

Make efficient use of the local animal population. Use Bait to bring some playmates to the party that the soldiers can then have fun with.

Is there an Elephant handy? Hey, why not go for an Elephant ride and say hello to the enemy by stomping them to death? That sounds like a good plan to us!

If there happen to be explosive barrels in the area, why not shoot them? After all you are using a silenced weapon, so the barrels will appear to just go off on their own! That might confuse the enemy a little, sure, but done right, it will also kill some of them - and killing the enemy? That is ALWAYS a good thing!

Always remember that for every soldier you can see, there is another one concealed somewhere. Don't take chances - when going into buildings be sure to clear the corners and rooms in the same manner you see the Feds and Special Ops do it in movies. You will be happy you did!

That pretty much wraps up our tips for taking Outposts. Remember, taking Outposts is an important part of what you are doing to liberate Kyrat, so take it seriously! Don't have too much fun - but hey, a little fun? That is OK!
