Act III - Part III: Side-Missions

You know that old phrase "It's not over 'till the fat lady sings?"

Well however you resolve things with Pagan Min does NOT mean that the game - or the story - are over. Far from it in fact!

You see there are gobs and piles of side-missions to be done if you have yet to do them, and then there is the whole matter of the expansion content that the game has both received and WILL be receiving! In fact that expansion content is why it may very well be a great idea to purchase the Far Cry 4 Season Pass - just saying...

With that in mind and understanding this reality you should grasp quickly why the Side Missions Section has arrived in the guide AFTER the last Story Mission Section, right?

Because In addition to the Story Missions there are all these side-missions that have become available as you liberate more of the targets in the game - Outposts, Fortresses, and the like - side-mission you are going to want to do now that the pressure is off and Pagan Min is no longer the bogeyman...

These are more or less optional up to a point - we say up to a point because if you check the Skills Menu you will find that they actually are required to unlock certain Skills... Those are:

• Arena - Duration Boosts Skill

• Armed Escort - Improvised Surgery Skill

• Bomb Defusing Missions - Grenade Takedown Skill

• Eye For An Eye - Cover Takedown Skill

• Hostage Rescue - Breath Control Skill

• Kyriati Films: Racing - Vehicle Takedown Skill

Each of the Side-Quests is a type-event - that is to say that while there are a number of each scattered throughout the land, each type is of a type. They basically repeat the same goals but in a varied setting.

Some free and unsolicited advice? While the wizards who created the game really do try to keep it fresh, you can help by not doing the same sort of side-quest in a row...

The Side-Quests are:

Arena

For this side-quest you return to the Arena for different matches. There are three types of match - the Battles, the Endless, and the Weapon Challenges. Battles are just regular fights, Endless Mode has you try to survive waves as long as you can, and in Weapon Challenge you need a minimum of 3 Stars to win.

It should be noted that when you reach Rank 10 you are awarded the Bushman Signature Weapon as your reward.

An Armed Escort Side-Mission for Example...

Armed Escort

Escort a Golden Path supply truck to safety in this quest.

Assassination

Assassinate Royal Army commanders for the Golden Path in this quest.

Bomb Defusing Missions

Prevent the Royal Army from bombing the Golden Path in this quest.

An Eye for an Eye Side-Mission for Example...

Eye For An Eye

Take revenge on the Royal Army for the People of Kyrat in this quest.

Golden Path Supplies

Collect scattered supplies and deliver them to the Golden Path in this quest.

Hostage Rescue

Kill Royal Army soldiers and rescue the hostages in this quest. Stay undetected or the hostages will be executed.

Hunting: Control

Cull the local wildlife population for the Golden Path in this quest.

A Hunting Supplies Side-Mission for Example...

Hunt various wildlife in the region to provide local supplies in this quest.

Hunting: Survival

Take on dangerous Animals in the wild in this quest.

Kyriati Films: Racing

Race through checkpoints against the clock in this re-playable race.

Kyrati Films Survival Race Side-Mission for Example...

Kyriati Films: Survival

Race through dangerous environments in multiple Vehicles in this re-playable race.

Outpost Master

Replay this Outpost to perfect your strategies and relive your favorite moments. Outpost Master awards points which are used to rank you in the online leaderboards.

Pagan's Wrath

Destroy this heavily armored hostile convoy.

Propaganda Centers Side-Mission for Example...

Propaganda Center

Destroy large amounts of Royal Army propaganda in this quest.

These missions have a number of Achievements associated with them, including the following:

• Defuser (10G) Complete 3 Bomb Defusal quests (Campaign only).

• Gearhead (10G) Complete 3 Kyrati Films: Racing or Kyrati Films: Survival activities (Campaign only).

• No One Left Behind (10G) Rescue 15 hostages in Hostage Rescue quests (Campaign only).

• Trigger-Man (15G) Complete 3 Assassination or Eye for Eye quests (Campaign only).

• Well-Rounded (20G) Complete any 6 Hunting quests (Campaign only).

The listed Achievements above are not meant to be the only remaining ones you have in your game mind you, they are just the ones that relate to these side-missions.

The Achievements Scheme in Far Cry 4 is one of the most varied (and easiest to completely unlock) for all of the games in the series so far on our opinion - so if Achievements are important to you, you are well-found in them here!
