Character development consists of two core elements: Crafted Upgrades and Skill Upgrades.
I. Crafted Upgrades: The first of the two distinct Character Development Stats that expand your character's abilities from the number of weapons and items of kit you can carry to how many resource and even money you can possess and carry.
How much you can carry is half of the upgrade path for your character and represents half of the potential influence your character enjoys.
You start out with a single Weapon Slot - which means you can carry one weapon - and a basic but very limited carrying capacity across the board.
Adding to your carrying capacity is accomplished via the Crafting System, and should be the first thoughts you have in terms of progress in the game.
The following are the core headings and subjects that the Crafted Upgrades are divided into.
Ammo Bags
The Ammo Bag - and its upgrades - increases the amount of ammunition you can carry for the weapons you choose to use...
Bait Bags
Bait Bags are used to store the bait you use to lure in the different Animals you want to hunt in order to obtain Crafting resources....
Explosives Bags
The Explosives Bag upgrades allow you to carry an increasing amount of Explosives....
Heavy Ammo Bags
The Heavy Ammunition Bag is where you carry the large rounds for crew-served weapons and its upgrades increase the amount you can carry...
Loot Bags
The Loot Bag Upgrade is just what it sounds like - upgrades that allow you to carry more loot than you previously could...
Quivers
The Quiver upgrades increase the amount of arrows and bolts that you can carry...
Syringe Kits
Syringes are the Medkits of Far Cry 4 - used to near-instantly heal the player.
Throwables Bags
This resource bag allows you to increase the amount of throwable weapons and objects tha tyou can carry.
Wallets
The Wallet Upgrade increases upir carrying capacity of Rupees - the money in the game.
Weapon Holsters
You start out with a single weapon capacity - you can increase the number of weapons you can carry up to a total of eight via crafted holsters. Note that the Weapon Holster is the equal to Weapon Slots in practical terms.
Each holster requires a different set of resources - so you are not simply going to go out and kill 20 Honey Badgers and then craft all of the holsters you can use - you will need to obtain the specific resources you need for each craft in other words.

II. Skill Upgrades: The second half of the Character Upgrade path is Skills - which are chosen and upgraded using Stat Points and special actions.
These are earned by killing things and completing missions, and permit you to spread the points over the spectrum of stats that allow you to sharpen your skills.
The Skills Sets are divided into two categories - The Tiger and The Elephant - each of which has its own basic set of values and abilities - The Tiger Tree is a skill tree that is mostly related to offensive skills and stealth, while the Elephant Tree is largely devoted to health and healing.
