Collections - Overview

The collections system in Action-adventure games has become a very significant element in game play in the genre to the extent that it is almost considered a required element for these games - even when, as is the case in Far Cry 4 - it does not actually play a central role in the game story or the Achievement scheme.

In FC4 there are basically three Collections extent - the People Collection, the Animal Collection, and the Places Collection. Completing each of these requires the player to attain each entry for each group.

These Collections take the role of sections of the book “King Min's Kyrat: The Official Guide” which is ostensibly a Travel Guide Book that was written by Pagan Min - though knowing him that is not bloody likely now is it?

The player “completes” each of the three collections by acquiring each entry in the travel book - this is accomplished by attaining sufficient exposure to the subject so that the player has learned enough about it to be more or less expert in it.

In the case of Animals this is largely accomplished by hunting and killing them. For Places it is done by visiting them, and for People, by meeting them.

The actual choice in collection items is often tongue-in-cheek, and offers a rather pointed view of the world and Kyrat as seen through the jaundiced eyes of Pagan Min.

Ignoring the spelling and grammar errors, the message when you read between the lines - and when you are aware of the 30+ years of Civil War, is rather frightening.

In addition to offering up a complete listing of each element that is part of the collections, where it is needed and appropriate, we also include specific information that is required for completing each collection object individually!

As you proceed with game play remember that the overall focus for this guide was to provide game play information and assistance that can be utilized without altering the typical game play experience - that is to say the information that is presented here should NOT require you to alter the manner in which you play the game in order to either make use of it, or acquire the various subjects it addresses.
