Skill Points, are a form of currency required to learn specialties and roles. They are acquired at the end of battles, as quest rewards, or when you interact with Harvesting nodes. As specialties and roles are integral to your adventures, it is in your best interest to increase their benefits by actively expending skill points. To view how many skill points you have accrued, look at the top of the screen for the aforementioned icon.
Skill Point Farming
There are certain roles and equipment in the game that allows you to earn more SP in exchange for not earning any EXP. These non-combat roles and supporting equipment can be quite useful when equipped on Relia while you’re doing SP farming runs. Furthermore, there’s a similar role called Miser that also prevents EXP gain in exchange for more Fol. When these roles are active together, you’re basically farming more Fol and SP. This can be further enhanced by maintaining a good Reserve Rush gauge with Fol and SP bonuses.
After the new ship arrives and when you can use the transporter again, you can trigger one particular PA in Myiddok between Emmerson and Miki which will unlock the Minstrel role which boosts SP gain by x%. This stacks up with another SP boosting role, Altruist and an accessory called Testament to Truimph.
Testament to Triumph can be first acquired as a quest reward. More can created via Item Creation at Crafting LV7 (Laurel Tree, Bloodstained Cloth x3, Gold x3). You can create three more and augment to stack their effects up to 4%.
Later in the game, just before heading to the asteroid base, you can view a private action between Anne and Emmerson called “Anne’s First Mission”. This will unlock the Instructor role which increases the EXP gained by the party up to 50%. Depending on how you grinded, you can either by very high leveled now or you have reached the level cap. If you need to catch up leveling up roles and specialties, you can start grinding for SP now. Consider the following setup, preferably equipped to Relia:
Roles:
In the late game, it’s preferable to grind in the Northern Territory of Sohma and Signesilica since most enemies there drop rare Materials like various stones like meteorite, angelstone, nereidstone, and moon pearls. They also have great base EXP, Fol, and SP drop when defeated, allowing you to make the most out of your run. This is even more convenient if you have unlocked the option to transport directly to the Northern Territory of Sohma through the Charles D. Goale’s transporter.
