Midnight Invasion

Once back in the kingdom, there will be new equipment available. Make sure to get the latest gear and Weapons you can afford for your party and ensure that your Consumables and support items are stocked up. When ready, head to the castle entrance to trigger a cutscene. Once done, enter the castle with Victor.

There’s a temporary berry merchant inside to the SE and a healing point to the NW; utilize them as necessary. There are also chests inside the castle containing the items listed below and a locked chest that you need to come back for later:

• Blueberry x5, Blackberry x5
• Signet Card: Faerie Light
• To the SE, there is
• Strength Potion x1
• Perception Potion x1

Talk to the commander in front of Victor then shortly after, the men will be assembled in the main hall. Head there and go beside Victor to trigger the next event. Once he leaves with the other soldiers, follow suit.

Next thing you know, the capital is already overrun by enemies and you’ll be engaged in a night battle against the invading army. You can defeat the first few soldiers but like your previous encounter with them in the northwest Resulian Plains, they’ll stream endlessly so don’t waste your time and effort trying to defeat them all. Ignore some of the enemies along the way and head to the southwest.

There you’ll encounter enemy gunners equipped with futuristic blasters. Their blasters can knock your characters down but the cramped alley means that you can easily damage several of them at the same time. Anne’s Hammer of Might and Miki’s Earth Glaive works wonders against these enemies. Defeat them then continue to the SE plaza to trigger another cutscene.
