The Alola Region is the first ever region in the World of Pokemon that has literally been subdivided into four separate places. Sure, Kanto and many other regions received a few islands just off the coast of their region, but never has one been divided into separate entities that make up the whole. In addition to this, from one island to the next, there are different Wild Pokemon to be found, cities to be explored, Island Trials to complete, and Island Kahunas to battle.
