A new addition to the game, the Goat Nursery consists of a structure and mission that is made up of a series of quests. The function of the Goat Nursery may not be obvious at first, since indirectly it leads to exactly the same end result as does simply feeding baby goats until they become adults - the important difference here is that baby goats who are raised via the new Nursery are endowed with extra stats and, specifically, create extra and better resources when they are fed as adults.
Farmers who have reached Level 12 (or above) will be prompted to place the construction project for the Goat Nursery on their farm upon log-in, and are then required to obtained the following resources in order to complete it:
Once the required resources are met, as with all construction projects, the farmer then must seek the assistance of his neighbors in actually building the structure. Once that is done, the mission system that is associated with it kicks into play.
The first stage is to actually place a baby goat into the Nursery - this can be accomplished either by placing an existing baby goat from your farm, or clicking on one of the suggested goats in the interface for the Nursery to buy one. Either way that baby goat is placed in the Nursery, whereupon the player is required to name the baby goat (a new event).
The next phase requires some Crafting, and the farmer has to complete the following stages:
(1) Teach (your goat's name) their name while feeding them Baby Goat Formula
x2 Baby Bottles + x10 Pumpkins (you can pay 9 Bucks to avoid this)
(2) Make 2 Gold Goat Toys for (your goat's name). Bonding time!
x3 Rubber Goat Toys + x4 Oranges (you can pay 8 Bucks to avoid this)
(3) Say “(your goat's name)” over and over while grooming them.
x3 Boar Bristles + x3 Pieces of Wood (you can pay 7 Bucks to avoid this)
Once you have crafted and employed all of the above, you complete this stage of the mission.
The next phase of the mission is to select your baby goat's specialty - that is to say whether they will be a Fertilizer or a Milk Goat.
Whichever one you pick, that baby will have a bonus for producing that type of resource.
The second part of this stage is a repeat of the first set of crafts and Actions - and you already know how to do those.
The last and final stage of the mission deals with addressing your choice for your new goat's personality, and you have the options of Grumpy, Sleepy, and Playful - with the goat behaving in a manner consistent with the personality you choose when it is active on your farm!
This phase once again repeats the Crafting requirements, and once you have finished those and committed them you have completed the mission and fully raised your new specialty goat. Well done you!
That is not the End... There is a bit more to this.
First you can re-use the Nursery once its timer runs down, and there is a reason for that.
Your ultimate goal is to raise one goat with each personality, as doing so unlocks a special Seed Packet and License for Orange Sherbert Carnations that can ONLY be unlocked in this fashion.
Bear in mind that this is a limited timer event - and the timer will be based on when YOU placed the project - not on a fixed date. In order to reap the full benefits you are going to want to complete this as quickly as you can, just saying.
