The stuff of crafting, the optional items and kit are the resources that you scavenge as you make your way through the Quarantine Zone. Bearing in mind that while we call them optional, in reality they are really not - because you NEED this stuff and you NEED the Blueprints and you NEED to be able to re-supply yourself via crafting...

In addition to resources you will also find Weapon Upgrade Packages that you can use to add durability, damage, and handling stats. The one pictured here is Crusader, which adds +1 to both Durability and Handling!
