Sandalwood: Build a metal axe
Hardwood: build a Stone axe.
You can also use cheats to get all plans
I will give you the cheat to use for all plans: X,Triangle,L2,Square,R1. You should see in plans the toilet and shower plans.
Also to find a sandalwood go on the third island. Go the jungle and find a sandalwood tree I think it's a light tree but when you inspect it you will see on the bottom of it in green letters " Sandalwood"
Same as hardwood , you need the first island and find the hardwood tree it's in the jungle as well or on shipwreck lagoon.
