How do you make the boat?

I'm stuck with this part in the sims 2 castaway game and I can't pass it. I would like to know how do you make the boat?, I already have the hammer head and the tools needed, however everytime I try to make the boat... It always comes up examine and won't let me create it.

You say you`ve already got the hammer head, does that mean only the head or did you already make the hammer with the handle you can trade with the doctor?
If not I think that`s what you should do first.
Once you have the hammer and chissel I don`t know anything else why it doesn`t work.

I think I had the same problem I had to make the bridge it said examine but then I saw it was next areabecause I was clicking the bridge not the arrow

Go to doctor to trade hammer handle then go to craft thing to craft a hammer, go to the boat to make it will take alot of energy

Okay if you've got the hammer head, go to the crafting spot and make a hammer. You should be able to now.
