, the badass clone Hitman that we know and love. We get an image of him standing, his signature Silverballers crossed over his chest and a foggy view of the rooftop where Dexter is trying to depart but the fog is preventing this. This is the roof of Blackwater Park, and just to remind you, Dexter has Victoria.
Primary Blackwater Roof Suit Only Infiltrator Run-through
By listening to the security agents on the roof you learn that Dexter is in a panic to leave and that he has rigged the building with explosives in order to ensure that 47 dies. But just to be safe he has his security team scattered all over the roof and there are additional explosive charges that they are supposed to be setting. The clock, as they say, is ticking.
Approach the nearby Guard and throw him through the open skylight and there shoot the pallet suspended ahead to take out the Guards below it – I say Guards because it is possible for there to be two killed by the pallet that you can shoot to drop on them, but that is not likely unless you either lingered so they started patrolling or you throw something to lure two under it. You have to score the two accidental kills for the Hazardous Challenge
to unlock and if you only kill one it will only increment one which means you will have to try again – once you have accomplished that immediately sneak ahead and to the right and up the stairs there. The idea here is to reach the next level up and hit the Checkpoint with more than 4 minutes on the timer. Believe it you will need them.
Countdown Primary Suit Only Infiltrator Run-through
As you work your way to cover you overhear more conversation, and it is clear that some of the Guards are not comfortable knowing that Dexter has the trigger that will set off the explosives – but that is not your problem – your problem is getting past the absolutely massive number of Guards at the end of the roof you need to pass through!
Be sure that you use the Checkpoint at the top of the stairs after you leave the first area, and then be sure you thin out what Guards you can by incapping them or pushing them over the edge of the roof. Because of the timer counting down you don't want to take too much time with that bit. Using your silencer take out three of the isolated Guards via headshots to unlock the Challenge
Take 'em Down - Part 1.
While it is nice that you unlocked that Challenge
, don't even think about trying to do the next phase and dump bodies over the edge, there just is not time. Taking out one of the guys to the left at the end of the roof will cause the Guards blocking the door to go and investigate, at which point you can then sneak to the door and go through. Directly ahead of you is a heating vent on the upper wall to the left.
Using the heating vent, exit on the other side and then, avoiding setting off the literal carpet of Proximity Mines make your way to the crates near the edge and hide then leap over them (B+A) then hang off of the edge of the roof and sidle over to the open corridor between the two groups of mines. At the heliport proper you can climb up, at which point you are now very well placed behind and to the right of Dexter.
The obvious choice here is to Point-and-Shoot using Instinct to take him down with a headshot, thus stopping the timer. When you do this you will unlock the Achievement “The Final Countdown” (10G) You assassinated Blake Dexter.
QUICKLY run to his body and pick up his unique signature weapon, Dexter's Ultramax – you have to do this FAST before the level ends!
You will also have unlocked the Challenges
Infiltrator, Suite Only, Face-to-Face, and Take 'em Down - Part 1.
You will very likely be doing a number of Clean-Up Replays for this level in order to collect all of the Weapons
as well as the Challenges
– which we will now cover:
- Dexter's Ultramax (obtained from Dexter)
- HX AP-15 (obtained from Guards)
- Blackwater Tactical Team Disguise (obtained from Guards)
- Brick (on the rooftop)
- Coffee Mug (inside the building)
- Crowbar (on the upper heliport area)
- Fire Axe (inside the Keycard locked room)
- Hammer (inside the Keycard locked room)
- Metal Pipe (on the rooftop)
- Plunger (inside the building)
- Screwdriver (on the rooftop)
- Sledge Hammer (bear the helipad)
- TNT (near the helipad)
- Keycard (inside the building)
While completionists will want to have collected everything, technically for the Challenges
you really only need to collect the disguises and the Evidence
, and for the other collection the Weapons
Pick up all of the disguises in the level. This consists only of a Blackwater Tactical Disguise
. You can do it during either types of play-throughs.
Find all of the Evidence
in the level.
Evidence 1: The Roof of Blackwater Park
Collect the dossier from the roof by grabbing the keycard from the locker room in the building under the heliport and using that to access the locked room, where you find the dossier.
Avoid being spotted. You will unlock this during the Primary Suit Only Infiltrator run-through.
Avoid using disguises. You will unlock this during the Primary Suit Only Infiltrator run-through.
Stay on Target
Clear the mission in three minutes or less. Self-explanatory and it is doable but you have to mostly sneak or go guns blazing. The video above shows a variation on the two – shooting and stealth, the idea being you cannot be outright detected and cause an alarm since Dexter will blow the roof if you do!
All Roads Lead to Dexter
Take all three paths. There are basically three ways that you can reach him, so when you replay this, do the ladder, the heating vent, and up the side of the helipad.
One accident for two kills using the construction pallet. You will need to use either a thrown item or a silenced shot under the pallet to lure two enemy in and then drop it on them. Bear in mind that this is one of the bugged Challenges
that does not always show the completion counter when you do it right, so after you kill the two Guards with the falling pallet load, check the stat screen to verify that you have unlocked it, and if you have, well then go you!
Kill five enemies with the Fire Ax. It is not clear whether these need to be stealth-kills or not, since the counter has incremented for us on non-stealth-kills as well as on stealth kills, so this is a lot easier to unlock than you might think it would be!
Strangle the target. Simply sneak up and Garrote / strangle Dexter.
Face to Face
Clear the mission.
Take 'em Down - Part 1
Make three headshots and remain undetected. You should unlock this as part of the Primary Suit Only and Infiltrator run-through.
Take 'em Down - Part 2
Dump six bodies over the ledge. Note that where you dump the bodies will make a difference – if you drop them off of parts of the edge that are not where the Guards you pushed off the roof were on the top section there is a good chance that it will NOT increment. So it is just easier to be sure that you drop them from the known good drop spots. Just saying.
Take 'em Down - Part 3
Complete the Take 'em Down - Part 3 Challenge
Ten unseen kills. This is really easy if you use the Point-and-Shoot tactic effectively.
Complete all of the Challenges
in the level. This will unlock automatically when you have unlocked all of the above Challenges.
The opening CS for this Chapter is an impressive cinematic view that harkens back to the old school
