Striking with the tip will maximize the damage dealt. Teach aggressive foes a lesson with his strong Counter move.

Final Smash

Critical
Critical

Marth dashes forward at blinding speed, and will deliver a critical blow to the first enemy that's standing along the path. If there are nearby opponents, they'll be launched off the stage too. This strike can launch any opponent, even the heaviest ones and even without damage. However, there's a danger of flying off stage if there are no opponents hit or obstacles to stop Marth's dash. You can cancel this move by pressing the special button again.

Recovery

Like Lucina, Marth's primary recovery move is the Dolphin Slash. This gives him a good height recovery though its angle is a bit limited so you have to be very close to the stage's edge to ensure that you'll be able to grab it. This move also puts Marth in fall state so if he misses his mark, he'll fall helplessly to the ground or to oblivion. Marth lacks reliable horizontal recovery moves so its better to rely on carefully timed double-jumps to get back to the stage.

Gameplay

Marth's moveset is exactly the same as Lucina's. Like her, his attacks rely heavily on his sword. Though he doesn't deal that much damage, his sword gives him decent range when attacking. Marth is agile enough to connect his sword swings flawlessly. Marth relies on precision hits, instead of attacks that require button mashing. He needs to build up damage through successful hits or attack opponents that have already high damage in order to score a knock out. His Dancing Blade move will be his main offensive staple, in order to deal decent damage while performing a good multi-hit combo.

Marth's Shield Breaker is very potent against shields and deal decent damage. Charging it increases its potency and damage but this will leave you vulnerable, making timing difficult. The charging time isn't that optimal though; so don't expect to use this move that often without proper timing. His moves are very similar to Lucina so if you're playing as the latter, you'll be immediately familiarize yourself with Marth's moves.
