Bowser is Mario's long-time archenemy who made kidnapping of Princess Peach his favorite past-time. He's slow and heavy but his attacks pack a punch. The height of his jumps are limited so don't expect him to reach higher ground as efficiently as other characters. His defense is also top-notch; if he has sustained light damage, weaker attacks won't even make him flinch.

Final Smash

Guide Image

Bowser transforms to his gargantuan form known as the Giga Bowser. This form can be a hassle in normal stages but it excels well in Final Destination form stages where players have very limited space to escape or move about. Giga Bowser's attacks are heavy and can easily launch medium to severely damaged enemies with a hit or two.

Recovery

Bowser can only rely on his Whirling Fortress move to recover. When timed after the peak of using a double jump, it can allow him to reach higher heights. Just hold up then use Whirling Fortress to make Bowser spin upwards.

Gameplay

What Bowser lacks in speed, he makes up with his strength and defense. His build also allows him to have longer reach so its possible for you to land the first blow before your opponent retaliates. If Bowser's damage is low, players can play him aggressively since most weaker attacks won't flinch him. When using Whirling Fortress and Flying Slam, Bowser also becomes untouchable while he's performing those moves so you can use that to your advantage especially when trying to deal with multiple enemies at once. '

Flying Slam is a deadly yet risky maneuver. This move is very flexible since you can use it to grapple enemies while fighting normally on the ground, capture them in mid-air, or tackle then while running before finishing them off with a deadly body slam.
