Walkthrough: All might look over after defeating Bowser and saving Princess Peach; however, things don't quite as planned when the interior of the moon begins to collapse. You'll immediately crash down to the lava-filled interior, having to get back to Princess Peach quickly as the kingdom crashes down around you. As you reach her, it appears as though the only way out is blocked. The only way out is to use Cappy to capture the only character who doesn't have a hat and who he has never had the chance to control: Bowser.

As Bowser, you can easily destroy blocks ahead of you, either with his claws or fire breath. Keep moving forward until you reach a giant chasm, the same with a pathway ahead that is lined with space cubes that crumble below as you walk on the. Keep moving forward at all times, or else you'll fall to your doom. As debris falls from above you, it will shatter in pieces and continue rolling your way. Destroy any piece that make your way to you with Bowser's claws, jumping up before heading right. Take a left up the path, followed by another left to reach a giant pillar.

Once you reach the pillar, begin to strike it as fast as you possibly can, dodging around the sides if you notice boulders falling from above based on the shadows they cast. After enough attacks, the pillar will fall to create a passageway that leads to an 8-bit mural. Jump inside the warp pipe to head inside as Bowser with Peach, using your fire breath to demolish blocks as you create platforms to jump to. Once you reach the end of a platform, quickly jump to the next as the stone the mural is one will start breaking apart. When the mural begins to curve back left, alternate using your fire breath and jumping to get out of the mural as quickly as you possibly can, giving Bowser a platform to do so and onto the next wall in the real world.

After bursting through the next wall, the end of the path will be in sight. There will be a space cube ahead in the middle of the core, surrounded by four large pillars and tiles of space cubes all around with falling debris. You will need to destroy each of the pillars in order to let them crash into the center; however, if you stop on any tile to get there, you begin to lose more and more ground. Use a counterclockwise approach in order to avoid ground that becomes lost, striking the pillars as you move side to side to avoid falling boulders. The more pillars you destroy, the more debris will come fall down upon you. This will cause boulders to slash apart, as well as creating more pitfalls you must avoid.

When the last pillar falls onto the center, it will then be your job to finish things off. So much of the ground tiles have now been lost, and whatever remains is rapidly fading as well. Waste no time running across the falling platforms and jump to the center platform. Hit it with everything Bowser has, ultimately revealing one last Spark Pylon. Quickly jump in it as Bowser with Peach to escape.

Mario, Peach and Bowser will land separately back in Moon Kingdom safely. For a moment, it looks as though Mario and Princess Peach will run off together, as well as both Cappy and Tiara. However, Bowser makes a last ditch effort by giving a piranha plant bouquet to Peach. Mario and the monster begin having a little squabble over the Princess, ending with each asking to be with her. But instead of picking either of them, Peach appears to choose neither as she walks off to the Odyssey Airship with both Cappy and Tiara. Once of the ship, Peach will wave at both Mario and Bowser as the aircraft begins to take off. Both Mario and Bowser go running to be with her, but only Mario, with a little help from Cappy, manages to jump to the Odyssey so high in the air.

Congratulations, you have beaten the Main Story of the game!
