Bowser Battle

Walkthrough: Unlike previous Kingdoms, Cloud Kingdom is specifically meant for a showdown between Mario and Bowser. There will be no Purple Coins to find, no other objectives to undertake. Head straight into the large cloud area in the center of the kingdom, and get ready for Bowser to drop down and fight you.

As the battle begins, Bowser will start by leaping from one platform to the next, all while tossing his hat to fail boxing gloves to attack you. Wait right until the hat comes at you, and then send Cappy to fight back. This should knock Bowser's hat backwards and upside down. Bowser will be frozen in shock for a moment after you do, and as he does, take this time to capture his hat and start throwing boxing-sized punches his way. He'll try and counter by jumping away and sending shock waves at you. Dodge them with perfectly timed jumps until you get close enough to him, and then nail Bowser with punches until he is knocked backwards.

The next phase of the battle will begin with Bowser tossing shadow versions of his hat to try to attack from different angles, ones that can easily be counter with a toss of Cappy. You can also try to dodge them, keeping your main priority of capturing his hat again in mind at all times. After donning Mario with Bowser's hat, Bowser will do as before and begin to hop around. But instead of sending shock waves, this time around he'll hurl block spheres at you. However, his hat, the same you have control of, can easily destroy these blocks. Do the same as before and get just close enough to Bowser, nailing him with another punch or two when you do.

In the third and final phase of the battle, Bowser will summon five different hats at once, launching them at you at different intervals and angles hoping to nail you multiple times. Quickly learn the way his throws works, dodging them or knocking them away with Cappy like earlier. Finally, his real hat will come at you again, so strike to in order to gain control of it once more. After you do, Bowser will now send both shock waves and block sphere. Do as before and get close enough to Bowser. THis time, however, Bowser will be ready for your punches with a shield. As you keep punching until the shield is destroyed, Bowser will try to nail you with a tail spin attack. Quickly jump over it, waiting until Bowser falls down to nail the last blow of the battle.

It will appear you have already defeated Bowser so early in your journey; however, the beast still has a trick or two up his sleeve. After you short victory, Bowser will quickly retreat and begin firing cannons at you and the Odyssey Airship. One of his attacks with land, send you and your airship crashing down into what is known as Lost Kingdom.
