How To Defeat Torkdrift

As the battle against Torkdrift begins, quickly find the lone Uproot in the field and capture it with Cappy. From there, use it to get under the Torkdrift and lift it up in order to cause some damage. By doing this, Torkdrift will launch out three separate glowing orbs that will be housed within brick blocks. It will be up to you as the Uproot to extend upward and break the blocks to strike the orbs found within. However, as you do this Torkdrift will begin targeting you with a laser beam.

As you dodge its laser, break open all three orbs it sent out. Once you demolish all three orbs, Torkdrift will become momentarily stunned and turn upside down. After this happens, it will reveal an exposed dome you can lift up into with Uproot. Doing so will cause Torkdrift to right itself, using the the laser at the bottom to create shock wave circles. Lift up Uproot to hop over them in succession, but watch out for the final shock wave that will extend much higher than the rest.

The next phase will begin just like the first, only with the orbs having even more blocks that will surround them. Torkdrift will also spin the orbs around while still firing lasers at Uproot Mario. Once the orbs are destroyed again, repeat the process of attacking the hidden dome underneath Torkdrift and then jump the ensuing shock waves it send out in frustration. In the final phase of the battle, Torkdrift will move and fire much faster, and the orbs will be in much thicker barriers. Do the same as before, avoiding Torkdrift's lasers as you break away at the barriers to destroy the orbs. After you do, hit Torkdrift's hidden dome one final time to end the battle once and for all.
