How to Promote Heroes

Heroes are the integral units in Shining Beyond. To clear the game’s content, you’ll need reliable heroes to be part of your party. However, just having high-tier heroes doesn’t make your team invincible. You still need to strengthen them and properly equip them to unleash their full potential. In this page, we’ll cover one of the essential features to strengthen your heroes: Promotion.

Hero Promotion is a process of permanently increasing a hero’s stats (Hero HP, ATK, DEF, and BP will increase). Once a character is promoted, he/she will gain a star. You can promote a hero several times until he/she reaches a maximum of 6 stars.

You can find the Promote button on a hero’s Info tab, as shown below. To promote a hero, you’ll need to use their respective hero shards or generic omni-shards. Hero Shards are the character’s own shards and can be obtained via the following means:

* Summoning a duplicate copy of the hero you already own.

* Completing the hero’s Weekly and Limited Hero quests

* Converting other heroes’ shards via the Forge (convert 15pcs of any 5-star hero shard to get 5 pcs of the selected hero shard)

* Buying them from the shop.

Omni Shards are used to fill in as hero shard substitutes just in case you’re short on the hero shards for the character you want to promote. The omni-shards that can be used will depend on the hero’s promotion rank. For example, you can only use green (3-star) omni-shards on 3-star hero shards.

Before you can promote a 4-star hero, the hero must be at least LV40 on top of the shard requirement. Additionally, UR characters like Emma need another special material like ascended orbs to complete the promotion. The number of shards required for each promotion will increase. Since it’s already hard to get a copy of an SSR and even a UR character, don’t expect to fully promote them easily. It’s a bit easier to promote R and SR units since their shards are easier to obtain.
