Heroes are the integral units in Shining Beyond. To clear the game’s content, you’ll need reliable heroes to be part of your party. However, just having high-tier heroes doesn’t make your team invincible. You still need to strengthen them and properly equip them to unleash their full potential. In this page, we’ll cover two of the most essential features to strengthen your heroes: Leveling Up and Rebirth.
Leveling up your heroes will increase their overall stats and in turn, their BP. While this should be done regularly to ensure that your characters are powerful enough to deal with the challenges ahead, you’re not required to actually max-out the levels of every member of your party. Normally, having a powerful tank and reliable healer is enough to get you through most of the content while you’re farming for EXP for your lower-level party members.
There are two methods to level up your heroes: EXP by clearing combat missions or using EXP Potions. Combat EXP is very straightforward; simply clear a stage and every hero participating will earn a fixed amount of EXP. However, the EXP you’ll earn from combat is quite miniscule and is not a reliable way to level up your characters. You’ll have to use EXP Potions to instantly level up or even increase several levels at once.
EXP Potions come in different sizes; each with their fixed amount of EXP ranging from 25XP to 2,500 XP per bottle. You can farm EXP Potions in the Vault of Gold of Wisdom, from clearing adventure maps, in Idle Combat, or just buy them directly from the shop. To use EXP bottles, you have to access the Hero menu, select the character, then tap the Level Up button. You can instantly use all available EXP Bottles on a single character if you want or just select the bottle type and amount.
The max level cap for heroes is tied to your player level. For example, once you’ve reached LV35, you’ll be able to level up heroes up to LV70 max. Once you maxed out a hero’s level
Rebirthing is a process of resetting a hero’s level and job level to reclaim 80% of the resources used. The achievements you’ve unlocked related to the character’s level and job level will not be reset. This feature is unlocked once you’ve reached Player LV 33 and will be a great way of getting some resources back just in case you’ve decided to bench a hero you’ve trained and use the reclaimed resources to train a replacement. Take note that only heroes with increased job levels (regardless of hero level) can be reborn. For example, a LV60 hero but with a default job level of 0 is not eligible for rebirth compared to a LV40 hero and job level 3.
A key requirement for this process is by using Rebirth Stones. These stones can be purchased in the shop for 100 Valianite. Once you have a stone, you have to access the Forge then tap the Rebirth button on the top-left.
In the Rebirth screen, select the character you want to be reborn and you’ll see how much XP, Gold, and relics you’ll recover after completing the process. Once you’re ready, press the Rebirth button. Your rebirth stone will be consumed and you’ll be able to re-use the resources you’ve reclaimed. Take note that you’ll only recover the same type of relic used for the character’s Job Level. (You can’t get a Warrior relic by rebirthing an acolyte).
