Shining Beyond is a JRPG mobile game which is better enjoyed when played in multiple sessions instead of a long sitting. That said, you’ll see your progress as you play regularly, even more so if you’re playing daily. The game has a lot of mechanics to keep track of, which can make it quite daunting and even overwhelming if you’re not paying attention. In this page, we will give you some of the basic tips to get started with the game.
As mentioned above, you’ll feel your progress more by playing in short sessions regularly. As with other mobile games of the same genre, there are daily rewards, daily tasks and quests, as well as rotating dungeons and challenges so even just aiming to complete these “dailies” is enough to get you some great rewards and progression. Besides, the game doesn’t have an “end”. It’s up to you how you’ll spend your time and how you’ll enjoy the content.
The Idle Combat System is a feature that allows you to collect resources and rewards from previously-cleared mission stages even when you’re not playing, up to 12 hours worth of auto-combat. You’ll get better idle rewards as you gain access to the later story stages. So just in case you can’t play the game due to personal commitment, simply logging in and collecting the idle rewards (or whatever daily rewards sent to your mailbox) is a great way to collect resources even without playing.
The game has a good roster of characters. Obviously, not all characters are created equal - that’s why we have classes and tier lists. Top tier heroes are great to have but if you don’t feel like using them anyway, then why should you force yourself training them? Use the heroes that you really want and train them as necessary. That way, you’ll enjoy training and strengthening them - making the experience ideally enjoyable and not like a chore. Waifu tier is ALWAYS going to be top tier.
If you’re financially capable of purchasing items and packs from the shop, I’ll suggest to hold off from any purchases until you’re late in the game. The game is already generous enough to provide F2P (free-to-play) players with loads of freebies and accessible content, and the need to buy anything will depend on your desire to summon a specific character or avail extremely rare items or resources.
Level up materials and other hero-strengthening resources will be hard to come by. While the game encourages you to use different formations and setups for different challenges and combat type, having a powerful core team where you can pour your resources will be a great investment in the long run. It is okay to switch heroes later on as you please but since all heroes start at LV1, you’ll start again from scratch in training them.
These dungeons have limited entry keys and will be rotated regularly. This is where you can farm various materials, including Relics which can be used for increasing up the job levels of your heroes. Relics will be hard to come by as you grind through the higher job levels.
The game has several features that will reset as part of the game’s daily reset (around 00:00 GMT+8) This includes, but not limited to the following: daily quests, Wishing Altar attempts, Free Grand Summon x1, dungeon keys, free instant claim for idle rewards, and more.
There are limited events in the game where you can earn limited currencies and complete event-exclusive tasks for a chance to exchange them for various prizes. Events are a fun way of deviating from the game’s core content while also giving you a chance to get useful resources.
Even if you’re not a fan of PvP, simply participating in Arena battles (regardless if you win or lose) will still allow you to earn some standard participation rewards. You can even avail some useful items in the Arena shop with minimal Arena participation!
On top of teaching you the basics, each tutorial mission or quest in the game has some gem rewards as well. You can access all available training chapters via tapping the Archives button on the main screen.
