You can select 5 of your best characters and import them as Einherjars.
If you have the Special Edition version of the game, you can start a new game in another route by selecting Branch of Fate. Take note that this is an entirely new, different save game so make sure to back up your route's latest pre-battle data in one of the Extra Data slots.
If you decided following another route, you'll have to either create a new character from scratch or modify your previous avatar as a template and modify it as you see fit. (Take note of the Bane, Boon, and Talent traits)
