Hinoka will be the boss of this map. Her retainers Azama and Setsuna will be waiting in front of the palace as well. Like the previous mission, you have to seize the throne room any time you can to complete the mission. If you activate the dragon veins in the area, the movement space of all fliers will be decreased while increasing the movement range of regular ground units. If Hinoka activates the dragon vein, the opposite effect will occur. This effect will only last for a turn. The effects can be overwritten by the last dragon vein that was activated. Use this to your advantage; for example, after Hinoka activates the dragon vein, use your fliers to kill off the enemies they can reach then overwrite her effect with another one that increases the ground units' movement instead. Proper timing when to activate the dragon veins will play a significant part in this battle.
The problem here is the enemy Kinshi Knights, flying units that can use bows – basically, a flier that's a bane of other fliers. Not only do they deal bonus damage against fliers, they're potent damagers as well, capable of taking out your archers, spellcasters, and healers. You have to be extra careful especially if you're playing on classic mode since the Kinshi Knight's range and power can easily take out a misplaced character or flier.
On the fourth turn onwards, reinforcements will arrive per batch in different locations. Push through with your forces and make sure to pair up the weaker units to avoid getting one-shot-killed by the enemies. Use the dragon veins to increase the range of your powerful riders. Azama will keep on trying to use the Hexing Rod to one of your important units, cutting their HP to half for the rest of the battle.
While forcing your way north, always keep an eye on the enemy range and danger zones, especially the Kinshi Knights. If ever Azama's Hexing Rod connects, use the afflicted unit as a support since it will be really risky to use him/her because of his/her halved max HP. Setsuna is also a very potent sniper/archer. Don't let her catch your low-defense characters or fliers off guard or they'll be taken out instantly for sure. With these pointers in mind, push your way through the enemy forces until you reach Hinoka. Defeat her then seize the throne to complete the mission.
