After the festival is complete, leave the city and enter again. Upon entering the city again, the group will bump into a person who hurriedly left without saying anything. The group will pick up a note containing a warning. Prepare your party and leave the city. Head to the northeast where the objective marker is located. The location is where you'll find some dead trees near the mountains.

Witherwood-South

Once inside, follow the path then turn right on the first split to reach the chest containing a Remedy. Backtrack and in the next split, take the path the right and head north. Pick up the 500pg from the chest along the way and exit to the next screen. Loot the chest lone chest there to get a Sleep Blade then return to the previous area. Return to the split to the west then head north from there. Loot the Phoenix Down from the chest then exit to the next area.

Witherwood-Central

All the paths here are interconnected. Loot the chest to the southeast to get a Aeolian Bow. The chest in the middle contains a Teleport Stone. Finally, the chest to the northwest has 1000pg. Once done, exit to the next area to the northeast.

Witherwood-Interior

This is yet another enclosed area as well. Loot the chest to the east and south corners from the entrance to get a Hi-Potion and Ether. Head to the southwest to find a chest containing an X-Potion. There’s a locked blue chest in the middle of the map. Just take note of its location so you can loot it later in the game. Save your game via the adventurer along the way then exit to the next screen.

Northern Hidden Village

Approach the villagers to trigger a cutscene.

Boss: Einheria
HP: 20,000 Weakness: None, FAM: Human
Einheria will use Crescent Moon, an all-party attack that can cause considerable damage at a cost of one BP. Heal often and don’t let your party go below 60% HP. Her other skill, Jump can cause heavy damage to a single target but costs one BP as well. When she uses this, it’s better to put all your characters in Default to minimize the damage whoever she lands onto. This will also allow you to counterattack with extra BP points when she’s unable to act due to negative BP.

When she’s low in HP, she’ll deploy a Spirit Barrier, which causes all damage to be deducted from her MP instead. This will take a while to break down since she apparently has a lot of MP. However, once the barrier is down, she’ll be open again for normal attacks. Repeat the same process of attacking when her BP is negative then Defaulting when she’s at neutral BP until she’s defeated.

After the battle, you’ll get the Valkyrie Halberd and the valkyrie asterisk.
