EXP and Money are quite important in Sekiro’s overall progression. His character’s level doesn’t increase per se but EXP earned from defeated enemies are counted towards his skill point earning instead. Skill points are used to learn new skills and further improve Sekiro’s arsenal of combat, martial art, or latent skills at his disposal.

Good EXP farming spots will always include an abundance of enemies that you can easily dispatch with a strict methodical approach, terrain where you can easily stealth-kill enemies or disengage/escape, and most important of all, a nearby Sculptor’s Idol. As you already know, resting at a Sculptor’s Idol will replenish your health, resurrection charge, resupply your consumables, and re-spawn normal enemies.

So, how long do you have to stay in farming spot before moving on?

Well, the most ideal basis will be the number of runs it will take you for you to gain a skill point. If you start to notice that it takes you more than four runs to skill up, then it means to find a new farming location. In this section, we will feature various EXP farming locations. We will add more as we discover them.
