The game’s combat is turn-based, where the character’s turn is based on Attack Speed stat. Other effects may override this mechanic such as activated/reactive effects like multi-attacks, counterattacks, and applied effects like stun or charm. The combatants’ portrait in the lower right corner of the screen shows the turn order. A whole turn is considered complete once all combatants have attacked, defended, or simply ended their turn.
You can also set the battle to auto or manual. You can freely toggle this mode by tapping the “A” button in the top right corner of the screen during a battle. Auto is recommended for mindless grinding on easy dungeons and enemies such as the limited Gold and Evolution special dungeons, or the low-level advent dungeons, or even on adventure maps.
Manual is strongly recommended in Arena or any dungeon with high-level bosses that will require your complete attention. This is quite essential since you’ll have direct control over the priority targets and Skills to trigger. While in Manual mode, you can review a character’s skill by pressing and holding the character’s skill icon.
While in Manual Mode, you can also take your time in examining the Applied and Lasting Effects. Applied effects are temporary buffs or debuffs currently active to all combatants. You’ll be able to review the number of turns left before the effect disappears. Lasting Effects are permanent boosts due to your leader Skills, a helper’s leader skill, passive and passive hero talents skills by the characters in your party.
