Team Composition plays a great role in ensuring the party’s overall combat effectiveness. While you can pretty much win easier battles with a ragtag team with different elements and overlapping/conflicting Skills, you won’t be able to clear high-level dungeons or secure a win in PVP.

Each character’s role is determined by their skill set and equipped runes. The game also tags characters with an icon as shown below. You can review your characters from the Hero Management menu.

Here are the popular character classes that you can consider in building your team. We have included some good hero examples below.

Attack

A character that excels in dealing damage. This character’s skill set is purely for offense, sometimes consisting of buffs, debuffs, and other applied effects. Be warned however, that while some attackers have exceptional attack rating, they give up a good amount of their defense rating making them essentially glass cannons.

Runes that increase this character’s attack speed, base attack, critical rate damage/chance, is recommended. This should be complemented further by hero talents focused on buffing the hero’s damage output. Once you have more characters, you can even create separate dedicated attackers for PVP or dungeon-clearing.

Defense

You’ll normally find taunt, shield, defense buff, damage immunity, and other protective Skills in this hero’s skill set. A tank’s role is to take the damage and protect his/her party members. A tank character will maximize his/her potential if the party has a healer. Runes that further boosts the hero’s DEF, HP, and additional HP recovery is strongly recommended for this build. Talents that give the tank ability to further reduce damage, reflect damage, or perform self-heal should also be considered.

Support

These heroes are pretty much a requirement especially in PVP or high-level dungeons. They’re the backbone of the team and what stands between victory and defeat. Healers have low def rating with decent HP by default making them somewhat vulnerable against focused attacks from enemies. In PVP, healers should be your primary target since their healing, revival, recovery, and protective Skills will hurt your team in the long run.

The game has dedicated healers primarily has heal/revive Skills on top of having access to buffs, debuffs, and other recovery skills. Like the tank, runes that increase the healer/support character’s DEF and HP with defensive talents should be prioritized.

Hybrid

These characters don’t follow the black-and-white identity of the classes mentioned above as their skill sets have unique gimmicks and mechanics. It can be a hero that can both attack or heal, or better yet, act as a tank and heal. The runes and talents that will be applied to them will strongly depend on their skill set. For example, a hero that has access to critical buffs should be equipped with runes that either further increases the critical chance or damage.
