The game’s core gameplay heavily revolves around your combat party and the heroes at your disposal. While it’s enough to have one generic team of powerful heroes early on, you’ll eventually need to build elemental teams made up of heroes with the same elements or with synergized Skills in order to conquer harder adventure maps, dungeons, or increasing your chances in PVP. There are several methods of obtaining a new hero as listed below:
Crystal Summon
*Avail of the free daily single crystal draw (worth 20 Crystals). This is part of the daily reset. Has the chance to get an SSR and SR but with normal appearance rate unaffected by any ongoing draw boost events. Normal character appearance rates can be found below.
SSR -2% (4* and 5* both have 1% chance)
SR - 30% (4* and 5* both have 15% chance)
R - 68% (4* and 5* both have 34% chance)

*Spend 200 Crystals to get a 10+1 batch draw. This is best done during events where certain SSR characters have boosted appearance rates (some can get as high as 10.2% from the original 1%) or if there are guaranteed SSR limited draw events.

Once you have a Goddess Falls created in your town, you’ll be able to summon random R-Grade 4* (5* if Goddess Falls is LV2). Each summon costs 300,000 Gold and you can only do a maximum of 5 (or 1.5M gold) of such summons a day.

You can obtain additional heroes by spending Gold, exchanging tokens, and various materials such as:
Buy heroes upright from the Secret Shop
Hero Ticket from Chance Roulette and Pal Lotto
Exchange spirit shards in the Laboratory’s Hero Exchange
Exchange Guild coins in the Laboratory
Exchange Guild tokens in the Guild Shop
Exchange honors in the Arena Shop
While the Secret Shop heroes can be randomly listed and refreshed, I’m not sure if the exchange heroes available in the Guild Shop, Arena Shop, or Guild Token Exchange gets rotated or cycled.

R-Grade heroes from adventure/ dungeon
R-grade heroes are common drops in Evo Dungeons and are uncommon/rare drops from various other dungeons, adventure maps, Guild dungeons, etc.

Advent Heroes
Upon defeating these bosses in their respective Advent dungeons, there’s a chance that you’ll get them as a drop. You can farm them for multiple copies if you want since they serve as fodders for enhancing normal heroes. This is only applicable to Single Advent dungeons; multiplayer versions of these advent dungeons will drop spirit shards instead. You can trade these shards to get the corresponding advent hero in the Laboratory’s Hero Exchange option.

You'll get reward tickets by completing various tasks, winning them in roulette or lottery, clearing maps, etc
Hero tickets will alway produce a random hero, sometimes with the grade or rarity mentioned in the ticket. While a 4* hero is already good thing, getting a 6* hero is even better since you can use them as fodder for limit breaking your key heroes. Unless stated otherwise, hero tickets will give you a random R hero.
